That story is a very good read.

The quote I liked most, in light of today's gambling climate:

“People are going to find bookmakers regardless,” he says. “I’d rather see them bet at a place where you get a (betting) ticket and you’re assured of getting paid.”

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Nice story but I guarantee you there is a "dark side" to his life as a gambler.

Had to be alot of times when he was questioning his life and what he was doing with it. Long losing streaks, etc.

"Gambling is a hard way to make an easy living" is so true.

Great article. I had the fortune of meeting Lem, Bob Martin, Herbie Hoops, as they ate in Celebrity Deli ages ago, all class acts.

My father and uncles used to be part of that loosely affiliated "network" and "a truly having the best of it" that as Lem notes, no longer really exists.

Lem and others were out eating with Tark The Shark one night at I believe Ferraros, he gave my father whom was with Dickie Stevens, an autographed pic to bring home to me when UNLV was the top program going..my buddies all love my Tark in a frame.
