Magic "Soon Paul, we're just trying to sort a couple of things out first"
PG "So your waiting on Kawhai before you sign me?
Magic "Not at all Paul, these things take time, you don't get to win 14 titles by rushing things"

Sam "Hi Paul, have you thought any more about the max contract we offered you, we are really keen to build with you and Rus long term, and we only have Carmello on the books for another year."
PG "Done deal"
Later on that day in somewhere else in LA
JW "Hey King"
LBJ "Hi Jerry I was expecting your call, how's Kawhai looking"
JW "Good. You, Kawhai and KD are my favorite players, it would be great to have all 3 of you on the same team but 2 out of 3 ain't bad. I think the Spurs would be happy with another Italian on the roster, he's not Kawhai but he's a big upgrade over Rudy."
LBJ "You think Pop has smelt a rat?
JW "Yeah. he's pissed but he no good options, lose Kawhai next year for nothing, get chump change from another team for a one year rental, or take the best offer on the table and have a decent chance to compete next season."
