Just dont see local support for an NFL team to survive by packing the stands.

It'll be like Jacksonville where 1/3rd of the stadium will be visiting fans. Think about it: I'm a Patriots fan.....and they are playing in Las Vegas week 5. Guess where I'll be week 5 of the NFL season??

We finally have. This tax increase will ensure that the next recession hits us even harder with an even longer recovery

The next bubble to burst will be auto loans...Like no one knew allowing people to turn their clunkers into cash and allowing people to finance a fucking car for 7 years would not lead to a problem....Disgusting....

And housing will follow again in due time, because they have already been reverting back to their old ways, with no down payments etc...Same viscous circle continues, because someone actually believes that people that never paid their bills will start paying their bills and actually be responsible adults...

From what I read the $750 million will come from hotel room tax rate increase. Not a cent from Nevadans unless they stay in a hotel.

the perfect political solution

all gain and no pain, somebody else is paying for it, awesome baby

here in CT, one of my favorite proposals was from a politician representing Northwestern CT that wants to increase revenues by putting tolls in Southeastern CT, priceless

They should just change mid to low limit BJ to pay 6:5, reduce craps odds to 3x4x5x, tighten the machines, and charge $10 for an ice cream cone...oh wait

The auto loan bubble is already starting to become unhinged, but does not pose a systemic risk, as most of the players in the subprime space are community banks and credit unions. Will just result in more consolidation in banking sector.

Multi-family housing is the next time-bomb. Too much class A capacity coming on-line, cap-rates in 2.5-4% range to value projects, another by-product of the Feds doing.

These are still citizens paying the hotel taxes. Why not make the billionaire pay for his own stadium?

If this was General Motors getting a free factory from a new tax on gasoline,, you would be screaming bloody murder.

Public paying for these billion dollar play pens is ridiculous. These stadiums just get more elaborate and elegant when it is not even needed. Everyone needs a retractable roof, crazy technology, a 15K by 15 K flat screen, water falls, water slides, seeing which billionaire can outdo the next. It's all a waste and to top it off, its only for 10 days of the year with 2 of those being meaningless games meanwhile the guy with 20 billion in the bank just makes more and more.

Notice how no matter what the economy is that athletes salaries, franchises, prize money always increases. Never decreases rather it be football, baseball, or tennis.
