keeping Young in the 4 spot after sucking badly to start the playoffs....turned out to be a good move as well. he's been solid ever since the slow start.

and Pujols has had one good game in the WS. The other 4 he's been 0-fer with a misplay in game 2 that helped give Texas the win. Hit and run may not have been such a bad move considering how many DPs AP hits into

if i was a cardinal fan, id rather take my chances of pujols hitting into a double play, then having a 2nd botched hit and run strike em out throw em out and the ball never gets put in play.....its all hindsight now, and i'm obviously happy with the Cards and especially Pujols lack of execution up to this point, but if i was down 2 runs with no outs in the top of the 9th had a guy on first with pujols at the plate and Holliday and Berkman due up, i'd take my chances on tying up the game with the long ball in this hitters park

again, this post is exactly why you shouldn't be commenting on a teams strategy why you have 0 idea what the team has done all year

Totally agree with you. I think that if a hit and run was called in the 7th on a 0-1 count, it was a very bad call. But I think it could have been a missed signal like Tony said or Pujols could have buckled up with such a wild pitch and just not swung. In the 9th, with a 3-2 count and Pujols at the plate, there is no reason not to send the runner. Pujols only struck out 1 out of every 10 ABs this year, he is a contact machine, the only thing that a hit and run does generally is open an extra hole for him to potentially hit it through. Its always easy to second guess, and I am a Rangers fan, but I agree with the H&R in the 9th.

3-2 rangers leading the series. Your right, on second thought I agree with the hit and run by Tony because I'm a ranger fan and not a cardinal fan

I also agree with Larussa leaving the lefty out there to face Napoli (who has made a career pounding lefties) and I also agree with the way Mr. Larussa handled his bullpen altogether last night. As a ranger fan, I agree with Tony's desicions last night..........Tony should have gone to a silent count to deal with the crowd noise........crowd noise?? Really?

Hope I am wrong, but I think there is going to be a game seven.
If there is a game seven, it is win win for all involved, the league, FOX, well, everybody.

There is this little conspiracy streak in me that says the league orders the home plate umpire to make sure close 2 and 2 pitches get called ball 3 for the Cards, and close 2 and 2 pitches get called strike three on Texas.
Just saying ............

I like the rangers chances with colby in that big ballpark vs Garcia......but it wouldn't suprise me a bit if the strikezone gets small for colby for the reasons you mentioned. Either way I'm betting on Texas again, and again if I have too

way to completely avoid what I said.

And the rangers have had home field through 5 games, so yes, they should be up 3-2.

Who should have gone in for Zepchinski last night?

And don't say Motte, it's the wrong answer and I'll give you all the numbers you need if you actually are dumb enough to say it.

Quit talking about another teams strategy when you have 0 idea what you speak of.

The strike zone has been everywhere all series. Not the best strike zone series. Holland got the corners and Carp got them too. But then they would hit that spot again next batter and it was a ball.

Carp got unbelievably great calls in game 5. Wilson may have gotten them too but man he wasnt anywhere near the K zone and half his pitches.....

ump strike zones are frustratingly variable.
