For just browing and making the post it will not make a difference which one you choose. If by satelite you mean wireless internet connection then 90% of the new ones have wi-fi built in. if not the card costs around $30 now. If you want to spend around $1500 the new tablet pc's are so very cool. The screen flips around and you can write direct on the screen like palm pilot.

Now General, if you can help me find software to grade my plays and sum everything up we will be even. Do not ignore me please, this question still remains.

I've had a HP laptop for 15 months. Do not buy a HP laptop. I've had several problems with it. Pay the extra money and get a DELL.

My fan went out on one of my laptops and its slow as a dog now and HP says thats normal and everything is working fine. Please! its slower than my 600mhz laptop and its a 1.6. The dells are the way to go i agree. Make sure you get a 15" too

If you are even remotely concerned with speed, keep in mind that no laptop will compare to an equally powered desktop. For that matter, don't expect a laptop to last as long either.

If you really need the mobility, you obviously need the laptop-otherwise, you are much better off with a desktop.

You can get a decent desktop machine for $600. I also have a laptop, and dread having to use the slow SOB....and it's less than a year old.

general, you talking about the dtv satelite isp ? if so i heard that were thinking about getting rid of that all togahter but, since direct tv was just sold recently i don't know really what there gonna do with thatright now.

I hate dell (but that doesnt really matter because they are good quality) because once I got into a 30 minute screaming match with one of their "representatives"

If you want something that will REALLY last get an ibm, they have several features that add up to what you get in a standard laptop

I have had 2 compaqs (dont even think about it ), 1 HP (again dont think about it) , 2 sonys (the first one was crappy , the one I have now its excellent), I think I might get one next year and if I save enough money it will be an IBM (They are expensive but again very very good quality)

I need one that I can take on trips and handicap the tennis matches. That's it, nothing more.

Here's what the machine requires to access the tennis database program:

I'm pickin up the cheapest inspiron from Dell. 600 bucks and go wireless. I will be addign my own ram though. If I could get any one I wanted I would get an IBM. You can run those over or toss em against the wall after a bad beat and it will still work. Nice metal chasis.

Also if you buy from a store you will be paying for todays price on yesterday's PC
