A healthy Bynum allows Odom to be a lethal 6th man if willing, allowing two shooters to surround the perimiter with Kobe and two good bigs. Very important loss for the lakeshow this year, although they wouldn't ahve got Gasol then.
odom is not gonna be the 6th man...he is just gonna play his natural position as a 3 and gasol his natural position as a 4...i dont like the lakers...but that team next year is gonna be fun to watch
WHAT DID JORDAN NEED AT 5???ope:
Jordan needed WILL PERDUE, BILL WENNINGTON, ROBERT PARRISH, LUC LONLEY, BILL CARTWRIGHT, STCAEY KING, SCOTT WILLIAMS at Center, it just doesn't matter.
Jordan would have a lot more heart at there than KOBE last night, not 1 even small run run the whole night to chip into the lead at any point.
I started to think for a minute that there may be a comparison....
i think LeBron is more like Jordan in many ways.
I don't see how you can play Odom at the 3 when he doesn't have a jump shot. They're better off shipping him to a team that requires agility on the interior for a player that can shoot and defend. Perhaps gamble on Mike Miller and try to make him play D.
Still doesnt compare to the FACT that Jordan played with one of the TOP 50 NBA players EVER and the best rebounder in the league.
getting old....but what about Odom for J O'neil?
Miller is only 27 years old, has a good 6 years left in him. O'neal would create an uneven balance on the team that would be all about the interior and the team would severely lack any outside threat. All opponents would have to do is play a box+1 and the lakers would crumble. Plus, I remember reading that O'neil doesn't want to opt out of his pacer contract.
One more time. First Jordan only played with the best rebounder for three titles. Second a lot of players have had great players around them and not one. He had one of the 50 greatest players but I've always asked the question, and I loved Scottie, would he have been a top 50 player w/o Michael? I'd say there is a 50% chance he would have been.
I think it was just proven that Kobe isn't better than Michael. What I don't understand is they say Kobe can't play tough defense because then he has no energy for offense, but Michael was one of the three best perimeter defenders in the league every year and he still put up 30 a game. Is Kobe not as well conditioned.
Michael Jordan is the only player in the history of the NBA to win an NBA title with out an All-Star caliber big man; and in most cases a Hall of Fame caliber big man. I don't care if he had Scottie. A lot of guards had great SF's or guards around them and didn't do shit. Michael is hands down the greatest but Kobe is great and will finish as one of the top 5 all around players in league history. This Laker team should win.
Everyone said Kobe has won no titles w/o Shaq, but no guards in the league have won a title w/o a great big man. So why is that a damn knock on Kobe?
