Math aside, I agree. Two months-during the season, DIRECT violation of his contract.

Damn right he should feel lucky.

Big Ben's accident might be a bad example but I think Jay William's Motorcycle accident was a better example. He had the no motorcycle clause in his contract but still rode it and broke his legs and ruined his promising career. I think the Bulls still honored his rookie contract but they certainly didn't have to.

You don't seem to understand.... Lakers could've FIRED his ass and VOIDED the entire $40 MILLION contract!!!!!!!!
.

NAHHHHHH. These players are protected as well, dude. This is not some kind of $5 job. The NBA would step in this case. Besides, even if they do, he'll get another team to play for by next week. Bottom Line, he did something wrong, he shall pay - $50 000 and NOT 500K- and the story is over. We all make mistakes. Breach of contract doesn mean firing !!! Just like breaching of the rules on the ball court doesnt mean suspended off the court! One gets a warning, a techincal etc. before he/she can be suspended. Just like you when you drive over the speed limit, you dont get your license taken away from you. you get a ticket and thats it!!!!!!!!!

But this is just my logical thinking, dude. Its not like I know the rules and regulations or something but I'm pretty confident about what I said above.

PS Lakers would have fired him if they could, dude! Like youself said, hes been nothing but a disapointment for the lakers so why not take this oppritunity then ???? And dont tell me Lakers are just TOO CLASSY!!! :puppy: I'm not saying that they are not but all bigger teams are! Its not like the Lakers are exceptionally great.
