Lack of transparency

The Horse Racing forum here is second to none, we have quite a few solid handicappers posting regularly.
But only a few update their daily totals, which leads to much skepticism about their integrity or intentions of posting their choices.

Anyone can put up numbers daily, but posting your daily bottom line is imperative to your integrity. I'll just speak for me I do daily update my results be it good or bad. Lately been very bad.

I find it when someone says yay I hit a race but they've posted 6 races. Does that mean:
1. They only post their wins
2. They didn't bet the other 5 picks they posted
3. They are just posting for "viewership"

I know I've heard in the past " these picks are just for information only" but who's information ?
Either post the races you're really playing or just stop posting just to post.

It's easy to bet "monopoly" and never be accountable for your bets. Why not be transparent ? Don't want to hear I waited until they loaded in the gate didn't have time. Every player knows within 5 MTP if they're playing the race.
Or state in your post what conditions warrant you playing the race.

To those who update their daily results Thankyou)(&
To those of you who are just posting to post I do hope people following your picks take heed when you announce a winner even though you've ignored your multiple losers or fail to say if you're even betting any of your choices.

GreenThumb...I will throw my 2 cents in, I have been around this forum for many many years, i guess you can gather that from my post count. And the reason I started here was because of the Horse Forum. Posters in these forums come and go, and when they go they will come back as another name so you take there words with a grain of salt. I think all the information on these forums is just information for you to sift threw and do what you wish with. I personally post my picks with bit of explanation to each one and how i see it, again maybe to help some one looking at a race that i have posted with a different angle, that's all. I play all my plays the way I post them, I do not believe everyone plays everything they post, they just want to hit a big exacta or tri with 4 or5 horses and say look at me! If some of the posters over the years bet all there bets, and we watched them lose most, they would be tap city.

Just my opinion, take everything posted with a grain of salt and if you can use it to your advantage go for it!

I don't think guys have to post their exact plays. I assume when multiple horses are listed the first horse is the key horse. pulled clear seems to be the only one that post 4 horses then celebrates when his 3 and 4 choice runs.

too many things can change. I handicap overnight, but then wait for scratches which might change my mind. When I'm at my local OTB, I might change my mind as I see the odds.

its just not a big deal, I just think anybody playing should ignore pulled because he doesn't really win.

I don't see where it's a big deal.

Any idiot that follows anyone blindly, deserves whatever they get. Stupid is as stupid does.

Not a lot of stupid people stay around here for years and years. Just saying

I still laugh out loud when people post plays, but don't say if they're really betting them. Why bother posting ??
Hey my results for last two weeks has been awful, I don't like posting my results but in gambling you need to have integrity.

I don't post that often and when I do it's usually just 1 or 2 horses..I play for scores and I use a key horse so if my key is first or second it normally means I've made some kind of score. I bet a lot of long shots, 10-50/1 so my winning % is not very high but a 50/1 shot means you can have 50 losers before your back to even..anyway, if a poster, including myself, doesn't post his losers, one must assume that anything not posted after the race was a loser..

I'm sure GTRs previous post was directed towards me because I posted a full card along with my plays at Keeneland yesterday. All I can say is you need to chill out and stop criticizing everyone who posts here. Everyone on here with common sense knows pulledclear is a dickhead and pays no attention to him. I've been posting plays on this forum for over 8 years. I'm not the best capper in the world but I think I am a decent one and I'm sure most of the regularys here will attest to that. Do I post every single bet that I make? No of course not. If I spent time on here posting every single bet I made I wouldn't have time to actually handicap the race and place the bet. The plays I post, I normally wager WPS because I try to find value. If the horse happens to get bet down to low odds by post time I may just go WP. But I always bet my posted plays.

As as for the full card I post, that is just showing my top 4 horses in order that I like for that race. It is for information only for those who may follow me. Use the info as you wish for any exotic plays you may want to play.

Hope that satisfies you but if it doesn't, to be honest I don't really care.

Backstretch/Wabash,

Not to speak for GT but I am pretty positive that he is not calling you both out. I think he is talking more about the guys who post full cards daily listing 4-5 horses per race and not declaring how, or if, they are playing the races nor possibly having one standout above any other. And to top it off, they do not give any hint of their success/failure with the picks especially for those who see the picks for the first time.

Backstretch/Wabash please do not take offense to Green Thumbs intentions as your picks and capping info is greatly appreciated here.

NYM, I do post full cards on occasion when posting my plays as I stated above so I am pretty sure he was referring to me when he made his last post. Hopefully my post above set him straight.

NYMess you were spot on with your analysis. My comments are only meant for one person who I shall remain nameless.. It's a solid forum with good people
