I wanted to jump all over some of the early numbers, but gambling is tough enough and I feel more comfortable laying the coin after some reseach of how teams are developing through fall camp. Here are some plays that I have already made and I will also list some considerations too. I will have some write ups later in the day, giving supporting reasons on why I made my selections.

UAB -5.5 vs Rice
This matchup has been discussed by several of us guys on here over the course of summer. I really wanted to hammer this at -3 but we can't predict injuries that could change the aspects of the game. I don't have my specifics here in front of me, but I will shed some light on the play. UAB is returning a lot of players on both sides of the ball and in the skilled positions. Rice lost most of their offensive production and is rebuilding on defense. I would have loved to bet this game at -3 but I'll go ahead and wager at less than a TD or 2 fgs.

Minnesota -6.5 vs Syracuse
Minny returns 18 players from last years team. Syracuse has a new coach and I expect them to have a transitional time to develop the new schematics. Like I stated above, I don't have my specific notes here at work and will share some other insight later when I have the information.

Games on my radar
Ohio +4 vs Uconn
Illinois -6.5 vs Missouri
Colorado -10 vs Colorado St (-120)
Tennessee -30 vs W. Kentucky
San Jose St +35 (-120)

Feel welcome to chime in and share some opinions. I wish everybody a fun and profitable football season. :toast:

Tenny play....

i'm taking them 1st half. they should beat up on WKy. but what kind of coach is Lane (besides being a big douche)? if Tenny is up 30, will he call off the dogs and get his backups some reps? Or will he pull an Urban Meyer and RUTS to win by 50?

my guess is the latter, but hard to say.

U make a great point. I believe that Wku will have a tough time finding the other side of the 50. Tenn D is a solid unit and ranks well in the SEC. I don't expect to see much in the way of scoring from Wku. My biggest concern is Tenn Offensive production, but against this Wku defense I feel strongly that Wku will not be able to stop Tenn's rushing attack. First half could be a better wager, we wouldn't have to sweat a backdoor cover on a busted play by the backups in the 4th quarter. Thanks for the opinion. I'll take it in consideration. With the recent news surrounding Buffalo I'm jumping on UTEP -7 (buying half a point) while it is available. Buff traveling across country with a new QB and facing some key injuries makes this a nice spot for UTEP! @):)

Hey Koop...The Illinois, UAB and Ohio games are definitely on my radar. Just watching the line movements and hoping for a little more points with Ohio and a little less with Illinois and UAB. BOL my friend.:toast:

Koopsta, Looking forward to this season man! I agree with you on the UAB pick and I am going to stay away from Minny game as these guys on here have scared me away from it after further review, but on paper, Minny looks like a no brainer.

As for the Tennessee game, I see Tennessee getting up big early, but who knows after that. Lane is a prick so he is prolly gonna try to run it up like Urban and try to do some things in the SEC to draw even more attention to the program. Just the way I see it. I think you will be safe with the 30 though. At worst a slight scare with a 38-3 game.

A first half I am looking at to bet is Penn State, I believe that first half will be a route if we are talking first half bets. Much like the USC @ Virginia game last year. I am hoping that line comes out at 14, but I would not be surprised to see 14 1/2 or even 17 since they have Penn State first halves pegged pretty good with the books

Either way, always enjoy your writeups and look forward to your picks and analysis this season.

BOL,

GoSooners- Thanks for buzzing in my friend. I've learned a lot from your threads and really appreciate your contributions. I found an interesting article in the front pages of a Phil Steele preview about turnover, turnaround. U have touched on this in the course of the summer. The scoreboard can be completely misleading and now I'll will keep a close eye on the turnover category too. A team can be over matched and out skilled but can have a shot of upset if they win in turnovers. Also, teams that shared good fortune in the TO category are not likely to repeat the same next season (or teams with bad fortune repeating). Same for Hot ATS teams of a prior year. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It has really help me get a better understanding of how things work in the gambling world. BOL :toast:
Jbragg- Lets get this money!! I've done some work on Kentucky's opener and Miami OH is in a world of trouble. I would like to hear your opinion of how Kentucky is coming along in fall camp.

Leatherballs- Great to hear from you. I expect us to make more money this year as we learn more and get wiser with our selections. Tenn 1st half may be the better play, but I wouldn't expect Kiffin to call off the dogs too early. Tenn has Ucla the next week at home. (Revenge from LY OT loss at Ucla) I would think that Kiffin would want to make sure his 1st and 2nd team are getting all the game time they can vs Wku. Just a thought, but the 1st half should be an easy cover if they don't turn the ball over.

Lonnie- Welcome to the Rx. This is a great place to share ideas and info to beat the man. Bol to you! :103631605

Im with you on Notre Dame and Illinois....When I first saw the North Texas line, that one intrigued me as well. Seems like way too many, but only time will tell. This week of work will be shot as all I will be thinking about is college foots!

Like most of them except North Texas. That 47.6 ppg and 482.6 ypg they gave up last year is very scary. They do return 8 of those starters on that D. I wonder if that's good or bad though. I hope you win them all. I'm thinking about taking the Irish.

Good luck:103631605

Recap of Games Played

I'm playing more games than I had intended, but I guess that is the way it goes early in the season. I will definetley focus in on fewer games in the following weeks to come. I do expect some middle opportunities closer to kickoff. We will have to see how the lines move. All games are played at 1 to 5 units. d1g1t
