I finally get on the positive side for the first time in 4 days going 7-2 with wtd at 10-5-1. Looking at a strong card on Wednesday.

Illinois -1.5 - Illini has been playing strong ball of late. In this rivalry game, it comes down to guard play which is advantage Illini with Brown and Williams. Illini still in hunt for Big 10 title so there won't be any let down here.(win)

Depaul +13.5 - Louisville is reeling and will be up for this one but Depaul still fighting to get into dance. I look for a close game that Louisville wins but under the number.(win)

Baylor +9 - Bears have been playing better of late playing Missouri down to the wire and staying close on the road at Kansas until final 8 minutes when Kansas pulled away. In battle of the two worst, Baylor stays close and could win this one outright.(win)

Oklahoma +4 - Sooners are fighting for their tournament lives as is Buffaloes. Ou lost to the top two in the Big 12 at home in Texas and Oklahoma St. Colorado is a strong home team who broke through on the road impressively at k state over the weekend. Difference in this one is Coach Sampson. Like Missouri, I look for OU to circle the wagons and get a hard fought Win on the road.(loss)

Florida -7 - Gators looked impressive at Ole Miss on Saturday now play Gamecocks in another potential bubble game. I think the team after a poor 2nd half last week at Georgia has pulled closer realizing Dreyer won't be coming back and should get another important win here.(win)

Wake Forest -9.5 - WF is starting to gain confidence they had during early season after big wins against Duke and Georgia Tech last week. Florida State just can't find it on the road and won't in this one.(loss)

Mississippi St. -10 - Bulldogs should be in a very nasty mood coming off of loss to Alabama. LSU is reeling getting blown out big time in last 2. Going to Starkville won't be the place to stop skid.(win)

UCLA +4 - Bruins will avoid the sweep and win against arch rival in this one. (win)

Best of luck!

What is your reasoning on KY and UCLA

I know with UCLA you said that they will avoid the sweep - but why?

just curious

I was leaning USC because they seem to have proven that they are a step above UCLA...

jaypaw,

In regards to Kentucky, check this out this road performance of Tennessee this year. They have one win at a subpar UMASS and that is it. Most of their losses were blowouts!

at Nebraska- lost by 15
at UMASS- won by 8
at Florida- lost by 38
at South Carolina- lost by 21
at Mississippi St. - lost by 22
at LSU- lost by 17
at Alabama- lost by 13
at Georgia - lost by 11

avg margin of defeat=19 + ppg

With Kentucky the toughest place to play on the road in the SEC, does this instill confidence in playing Tennessee?

In regards to UCLA, this is a tossup game. UCLA is 11-12 while USC is 11-13, which doesn't tell me USC is that much better than the Bruins though they have played better of late. In a rivalry game that is this close, I will take the points especially in a payback situation. Game at Pauley was a 7 point win for Trojans though they held big halftime lead if I remember correctly. Both teams played better last weekend as both beat Cal and lost to Stanford as both kept the score fairly close. Best of luck.

Kojak --

Could you give me your thoughts for picking Iowa St on this one --

I realize that Kansas St has not played great on the road - however, two weeks ago - Kansas St thumped them by 31 points --

spinman2,

First of all Iowa State plays a totally different game at home vs the road where they have beaten Texas,Missouri, etc. Also, Kansas State will be missing a couple of players tonight as well as some playing injured. Two starting guards, Hart and Willingham are questionionable and most likely won't play. Hart is the heart and soul of this team. F Ellis is also questionable. Iowa State is getting back injured guard Marcus Jefferson who has missed the last 6 games. Hopefully this helps as most importantly, Iowa State still fighting to get into tournament. Best of luck.
