Very entertaining opening weekend in the new era of College football with the playoffs. Really enjoyed the LSU/Wisky game. I have a couple of games I like for this weekend.

USC +2.5 at Stanford- With all the distractions going on at SC, was very impressed with how they handled their business last weekend. Stanford rolled with defense throwing a shutout to boot. Trojans are one of my sleeper teams this year. Unlike the past few years, not only is this team talented they seem to be together. Stanford has really put it together the past few years but really think Trojans are ready to break out again and win a top game on the road. Getting Stanford early is a blessing for SC.

Utah -10.5 vs Fresno St.- Utes may have finally solved their achilles heel and found their quarterback. They are also under the radar but despite inconsistent play have still managed to play well at times at home. I think on paper this looks like a test but Fresno really struggling offensively without Carr this year and looking to find their identity. I don't think they will find it here as Utah rolls in this one.

Vanderbilt +20 vs Ole Miss- Talk about an overreaction to opening weekend. Ole Miss blows out Boise St. who may not be the same without their head coach and Vandy gets blown out by Temple so spread at 20 on the road for Ole Miss. Not buying it at all. Vandy always plays tough with Ole Miss. Fact is most teams in college make most improvement going from Wk 1 to Wk 2. Ole Miss may win here but guarantee this game will be much more competitive than experts think.

Massachussetts +17 vs Colorado- Colorado going cross country after losing by 2 scores after holding lead and is favored by 17. They should not be favored by dd over anybody especially on the road right now. UMass did not look great vs BC but again it is a rivalry game and BC had a lot more to lose in that game than UMass. Great spot here for UMass!

Not ready to pull trigger yet but leaning hard towards Michigan St., Texas, and North Texas.

Total Card:

USC +2.5
Utah -10.5
Vanderbilt +20
UMass +17

BOL to everyone this week!

Did you watch any of the Vandy game? You are correct, typically a lot of improvement occurs from week one to week two..... but it takes coaching to achieve that and I wouldn't bet on Derek Mason in this situation..... he was a pitiful hire for this spot..... and simply does not have the credentials required...... a twenty point line is an over-reaction.... but the Vanderbilt team I witnessed is fully capable of losing by that many and more...... they did not have a clue...... and you can't fix that in a week.

Good luck...... Hogjawl

End up 3-1 on day with Vandy the only loser. I guess if going to lose one lose big.
