I like Herbie, but he just said on ESPN that he votes in the AP poll and that he voted BYU as #5 in the polls.....

Granted they beat Oklahoma and I'm not going to give any excuses since I'm an OU homer, but they did not look like that great of a team. OU was just the shittier of the two teams and still had plenty of chances to win, most notably taking the delay of game penalty on the 1 yard line and being forced to kick the fieldgoal.

I think they are lucky to be #9 and I guess that's ok for this week, but there is no way they have the offense to be #5......

BYU is a good team. But I would be surprised if they made a BCS game with only 4 starters back on offense. I look for the MWC to be down a notch this year. Too many starters lost off of the top 3 teams in that conference. Boise has the best chance now to make it to a BCS game. But they didn't look that good to me either.

Boise defense looked great. Their offense will improve.

When BYU struggles with Tulane this week, Herbie will drop them down a notch or two and things will start to even out over the coming weeks.

no team is as good or bad as their first week....except for UF who is the bestest team ever and should be given the MNC trophy now.

So based on last weeks game I can conclude that BYU has better players at 20 of the 21 players? Sounds like some crying. BYU could run the table and have a good argument about being #1 in the country if that happens.

I don't even know what that means...

Yes if BYU runs the table then they should get a chance to play for the NC......#1 i'm not sure about unless nobody else is undefeated. I'm not saying BYU is not a good team, I'm saying they shouldn't jump 11 spots after barely beating OU. That's all. Not crying at all. This post wasn't even about OU. It was about BYU and I think they got too much credit....

BYU did hang with them in the trenches..they were supposed to be dominated by Oklahoma's O and D lines..I think they are right about where they should be in the polls..Regarding Herbie, Will he pick his alma mater this week?

Also, it wasn't like OU was dominating BYU with Bradford in the game. They had scored 10 points in the first half. Granted they had a 2nd stringer in the game, but that is Stoops fault last year for leaving Bradford in games when they were up by 30 and 40 points.

Also, if they have 2 horses at TB and they weren't exactly setting the world on fire.

Why shouldn't BYU be ranked #5, because they lack the name. There has only been 1 week and they have had, along with Bama the most impressive win thus far.

This is the reason the polls shouldn't come out until after week1 or mid-October.

I've decided that you are a total zero. Your hatred for UF is laughable. I pray we play Tejas, that will be a laugher by the 2nd quarter.

Nice pick on V-tech this past weekend.

Polls are and always will be a joke. I love how Miami moves into the rankings and Fla St out of the rankings because of a dropped pass. So based on 1 dropped pass, it proves Miami is a better team the Fla St. I am not saying who is the better team, but it was simply based on the win. This is just 1 example of why it is a joke.

Vegas is not a believer or BYU would be favored by at least 3 TD's vs. Tulane. Although, the impression would be (after big win on National TV) that BYU will torch Tulane (Don't believe average sports bettor knows where Tulane is), so line seems to be begging for BYU action. BYU has a second straight week of travel and then back home against Florida St.

Tulane appears to be the play.

You make valid arguments, but man Tulane is God-Awful. I am not touching either side, but Tulane sucks!

I think the MWC is as strong as ever. But I agree Boise has the best chance, not b/c their the best nonBCS team, but the rest of their schedule is a joke. On the other hand, I could conceivably see TCU, Utah, and BYU splitting their games against each other.
