Guy had one or two above average seasons and everyone flipped out. Meanwhile they didn’t realize how dreadful he was in prime time games and how his team was never really good with him at the helm.

Just a terrible move by the Vikings who really didn’t NEED to throw money at QB. One of the few teams who could get away with not doing so. Just a waste

Cousins hasn't played well but they have the worst OL in the league and it probably isn't even close. Not many QB's would do much with this crew.

They lead the league in pressures given up by a wide margin.

Keenum makes $20 million a year.

Denver overpaying is irrelevant, he wanted to be a Viking and was willing to take a two year $28-30M deal not even fully guaranteed. That leaves somewhere around $64-65M for the Vikings to improve their team that’s all down the drain now. Keenum plus 4-5 other players a significant upgrade to Cousins.

Do you have any citation for this?

Not sure why Keenum would take significantly less to stay in Minnesota.

When it comes to QB's in the 10-20 range, people tend to get way too high and low on them. If Vikes can upgrade their OL next year then they have the potential to be much improved.

A lot went wrong for the Vikings this season, and the self-examination will be extensive. But the deep look has to start with how they gave $84 million to a quarterback who can't seem to do something that basic to his job—just throw the ball—when it matters most.
