guys, I cant stand the accents at one of my sportsbooks,,, it doesnt matter which one, but they are horriffic, 95% I do is done online, but the other 5% is always a chore,,, a DAM chore, shits always misunderstood,,, oh and by the way, I am from the Midwest orriginally, I have NO ACCENT, and speak clearly,

ok that aside,

how rude is it for me to ask for an american ticket writer? Does a book really care if I do that? and is that the Right phrase to use??

(May I speak with an american ticket writer?)
or what is more polite?

I know Im kindof being a dk, I just cant stand it,

Not really being a dick, no, some people have an accent, thats difficult to get around, technically we're all American though, as America covers Canada all the way to Argentina.

I find it odd that you have such trouble with so many clerks, Im not saying I would have everyone at a book give a speech in front of the United Nations in english but its not horrendous either.

you of course realize that American's working as clerks are a very small minority of the total amount of clerks available.

its like me calling a call center located in India and ask for an American agent........of course that case is different because the company that you are calling might actually have both Indian based and American based call centers

but you get the idea

ask for VIP or front row, we usually sit our best clerks in the front row known as VIP section, not only for high rollers but consistant players
and YES it would do well to mention what book so that we are aware of the players suggestions

When u think something is more important than a customer, think again..Just tell a manager and they will listen to the tapes..if u bring something meaningful to the table, any company should deal with it..

Ask to be transfered to a Gringo. That's more likely to be understood.

Otherwise you might get some Tica bitching that she's an American too, like everyone else on the continent.

I usually ask for someone that speaks English, but they always argue over that one.

My guess is that he's talking about Oly and\or BetJam. Those chicks may have some seriously sexy accents, but there are some of them that can be very, very hard to understand.

Don't be afraid to ask for someone else-it beats the hell out of trying to correct is bad wager after the fact.

Oh my god please don't get me started on this... I've had this conversation with way too many self-proclaimed Americans (Ticos).

Just once I want to see a Tico refer to himself as an American....for that matter any non-US person.....now I knlow I will be hearing it all day long at my bar but that is the lamest argument or point that is brought up....:ohno:
