key matchup to decide the superbowl will be brady vs car front four/pressure

pats will not be able to have a consisent running game against car front 7. however bradys quick passes is their extension of there running game.

the key will be the front four. can car bring consistant pressure by themselves? pats use alot of 3/4 wide outs and fox doesnt blitze that much so it will be all to car front 4 to disrupt brady. brady doesnt get sacked or hit, not because of a great off line but his quick 3 even 2 step passes.without woody the off line will not be at its best.

and thats why car will cover this game and might win this game. THE FRONT FOUR OF CAR IS THE BEST IN THE NFL. they will take over. they have the best 2 tackles and will push the inside right at the snap. brady will have his timing off and make mistakes. this inside push will work so well against a slow stationary qb.

That is certianly the key issue when the pats have the ball.

However, when the panthers have the ball, they are running (literaly) right into the pats strength. THe pats run defense, with Ted Washington holding the fort and freeing up room for Seymour, Willie, and a myriad of other players (the pats use a lot of subs) may be able to contain the Davis/foster tandem.

If they do, it will likely be with the help of Rodney Harrison (OVEr 7.5 tacles is a nice bet), and Eugene wilson cheating up in the box. If this happens Ty Law and Poole will be one on one with Muhammed, and Smith. This is where the panthers need to make some plays.

Delhomme will have to find these guys, and they will have to make some big YAC numbers in order to put points up on the board.

Muhammed and Smith are good enough to do it, but it wont be easy with the pats stellar secondary, and ability to pressure the qb.

I think good play by Poole, and Law can really limit the panthers scoring. I could see them being limited to under 15.5 points (team total), and this is why I like the pats to win.

YOur analysis is certainly fruitful, though. This game could go either way.

I still like the pats...I am thinking...20-9, with the panthers only getting points with Kasey. The pats are just streaking on defense.

Good luck!

i really think car can run against that defense

yes they will be cheating w/ the safties but i still think they can more the ball enough to score.ted wash takes alot of space but pats other def players are light. i think they pats def plays better going to the ball w/ their quickness and speed but car will take it straight at them. brutzski injury will hurt them alot. both eddie george and edg james were productive but both teams went away from the run. car will run and run. 3 and out is okay with car. they will play field position w/ there very good punter sauba????. steven davis really is not a breakaway back, he consitently moves the chains w/ 5 yard chunks.

you will see alot of 2 tightend sets and even full house 3/backs like in philly game. pats will make a mistake if they blitze from the outside because car runs between the tackles.

i really think pats are the best defense against the pass but they will be pushed around when car comes right at them.

hell of game

thats why i dont undestand the 7 pts

pats have the better qb and car has the better running game. i think both def are equal.

but like i said if the front four does not get to brady, pats will pass all over car. bellicheck knows the weakness of car def is the passdef of car w/their corners and safties (even they are playing better)

the front 4 has to get into bradys face. i think they will. it will be jenkins and ruckers coming out party.

remember pats off played swisscheese indy def however against tenn pats off really didnt play well. at this moment car def is better than tenn. it will be the best def in the nfl after the game.

De niro,

Your points are good. I guess it all depends on which players execute better.(its a cliche, but it is true and complete) I will concede this, if the panthers can run despite the help via Harrison et al, they will keep Delhomme from having to win the game.

If the panthers run well, they have a great chance at covering and even winning the game. However, if the pats contain the two (especially davis), then thats when thy could dominate the game.

Wow...all of this breakdown and here is a simple formula. If one thinks that davis can run on the pats despite the help (which could very well happen), then take the ppoints on an admittedly inflated line. (there is no doubt, that from a value standpoint, 7 is too much./ If this was a regualr season game, it would be 4.5-5.5).

However, if one feels the pats defense can hold them with decent success, then lay the chalk, as Law may take a few passes home with him.

THe panther have the advantage on speaical teams, for sure. Wlater is probably the worst punter of 03, and Suarbaun is arguably the best.

Both kickers are great. Vinatieri has the expierince, but stuggled this year, until the playoffs.

Coach B does have a good track record with 2 weeks of preperation. I could se a game that was similar to the cowboys game this year 12-0. But that was in New ENgland, and the panthers are way better than dallas. To be truthful, most New england fans felt more confident vs the colts...depsite the national sentiment.

Ya know, people say this is a boring matchup, but I totally disagree...I am really enjoying trying to handicap the scenrio's...two well coached, hard hitting, humble and respectful teams. Vince Lombardi would be proud.

Good Luck De niro, win or lose, your handicaping is very sound.

De Niro, I agree, the matchup with Carolina's front 4 is very important. I just wonder when/if the Panthers offense is forced to pass, can they execute against the tough Pats secondary? If the Pats take an early lead, can Delhomme bring them back?
I'll probably be with you given the line value, but I'm still not convinced.

Best Wishes

The Pats will do what they have done all year, generate enough points to make the Panthers throw and vlike Gary said, its just a question of who is sucessful.

De Niro, I think the NE OL did a great job vs Car front. Delhomme showed me alot today. Glad we were on the right side in this one.
