If the American public realise that GWB has turned Iraq into a deathtrap for your GI's, it wouldn't just influence the election, the public clamour to unass Iraq would mean a sea-change in US overseas policy at a critical moment.
So instead of the next Bilderberg cocktail party making the big decisions, the public would make it for them.
That is definitely a precedent that the "big boys" would want to head off at the pass.
If the media goes AWOL on this IAEA stuff, I would not be too surprised.
