I am 28-2 in picking UK games.

I told you last week Florida would roll all over UK (and they did).

This week, UK is healthy and they are rejuvenated with Brooks announcing today that Randall Cobb will be the starting QB.

If you watched UK this year, you will know how much difference the offense looks when Cobb is at QB.
Brooks left Cobb at WR because he felt he was the best WR on the team ... the problem was we had a sucky QB trying to throw him the ball.

The defense is healthy and look for a big game from them.

Remember this ... UK NEEDS THIS GAME TO BE BOWL ELIGIBLE.
This might be the last opportunity for a "shoe in" win.
They still have Georgia, Tenn & Vandy left. THEY NEED THIS WIN AND THEY KNOW IT.

Look for a good solid performance from UK this week!
Take the points for good measure (but I think they win this game straight up).

Let's make this 29-2 fellas! Good luck to everyone.

JB... is Lyon's still out? I mean, my sheet say's they are good to go and actually a play--BUT it doesn't know Lyon's is hurt. Would have been a medium play if he was in. I was leaning to FL last week too, it was weird how ppl were taking the queer ass 25 points.

Lyons is out for the year. He tore is ACL and MCL.

The main thing is that Hartline is on the bench. The players and fans have been wanting this for a long time. Cobb will give this team some life on offense.

Some younger WR's are starting to play better and they are letting their talented RB's get into the flat to make plays (Dixon and Alphonso Smith).

Lyons is missed dearly, but I don't think it KILLS this team not having him. You will see more option plays this week with Cobb (who reminds me of Vick). He has a cannon and is super fast.

I think UK scores enough to beat Miss. St.
I also think UK's defense shuts down Miss. St.

Look for a low scoring game (probably something like 17-7 or 17-10 type of game)

Mississippi State is so god awful that i don't think you can do anything else but take UK. Even if they play poorly, they still have a chance to cover.

Actually, I remember Cobb now... and yes he is an upgrade. Although I still think Lyons is a blow. That kid was the best Receiver on the team. That's like the Colts losing out on Reggie Wayne right now and saying they can cover.

Jetplane:

Uk has not had Lyons for a while now and they are starting to adjust. The problem with the Cats receivers in the beginning of the year was inexperience. UK had 4-5 freshman that are in a rotation. The are starting to adjust to the speed and running the correct routes.

Cobb brings a new dimension with his scrambling abaility to allow receivers to run longer. Hartline would throw the ball after a 2 step drop (not allowing receivers to get open).

Hartline couldn't lead UK to a first down against Florida.
Cobb comes in on there own 20 and leads them to Florida's 25 for a field goal. The next possession Hartline comes back in and throws an interception. lol

I feel real confident about this game. Like I said in the original post ... UK needs this game to be bowl eligible. This one is the most achievable with Vandy, Georgia and Tenn left.

I thought I saw Lyons play last week? >:p or maybe it was the week before. Anyway--it's not like they've been playing without him for a month. Hartline does suck, I blame him for the injury (i don't even know if it was his fault or not) and I blame him for making UK suck so much >:)

GO COBB!

I do have a boner for Lyons' stats... his playing style is a lot like KEVIN CURTIS imo and I think they both are very good receivers.

Some great news out of Lexington today:

"As far as the football Cats go, they got a lot of very good news on the injury front on Thursday. When they take on Mississippi State Saturday (which is “National College Football Day”), they will have Justin Jeffries, Micah Johnson, Marcus McClinton, Myron Pryor and Maurice Grinter available to them. While having all of the defensive guys available is a major plus for the Cats, the availability of Jeffries might be a bigger story. He’s expected to make the start, meaning that UK will have its entire starting lineup healthy and playing together for only the third time and the first time since Jeffries was hurt in the beginning of the WKU game. With a new QB and RB, an improvement in a healthy line could be just what the doctor ordered."
