Thoughts on this game with Florida starting freshman qb. He has taken all first team reps this week and I know Kentucky does not win that often in Florida. Anyone have any thoughts on this game?

Thanks

DJ Lagway is a very talented freshman. He's played well so far this year. I don't really have an opinion on this game. IMO, it could go either way. There are better games to bet on this weekend than this one.

QB Lagway is an improvement in every way for the Florida offense and he should have been starting immediately after they lost their first game of the season SU. The key here is really Florida's D though, which is rounding into form and playing really well. The Gators OWN this series historically and The Swamp can still be a tough place to play. I was not involved while the Gators were favored but with the line movement to +2.....give me the dog. Not that it's a handicapping tool but if I'd have told you prior to the season that Kentucky would win road games at both Ole Miss and Florida, would you have bet that?

Nope. I definitely would not have bet that. This looks like a stay away game for me as of now.

Looking at Covers preview…

So the pain is compounding for the Gators, who will try to grab a homecoming triumph.

"I think there's some excitement in terms of DJ and what he has been able to accomplish," Florida coach Billy Napier said, pointing out that Lagway had played in every game. "I think he'll be much better prepared. ...

Kentucky (3-3, 1-3) was unable to build off its upset at then-No. 6 Ole Miss on Sept. 28 and lost 20-13 at home to upstart Vanderbilt last week. This will be the second road game of the season for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats compiled 23 first downs last week but managed only 13 points. It marked the third time this season that Kentucky scored 13 points or less

The Wildcats committed a season-high 12 penalties vs. Vanderbilt.

"Offensively, we're falling short," Stoops said.

Demie Sumo-Karngbaye is Kentucky's top rusher with 380 yards (60 upgrades) terrible…. with almost twice as many yards as any other player on the team.

The coach said there are similarities between Kentucky and Florida.

"They're a team much like ours; it's a very thin line between success and failure," Stoops said.

Napier knows this is a crucial game for the Gators as well. my prediction UNDER

both teams avg final score 43 both teams combined o/u 4-8….. My vote is Under Florida 28-13

Last Meeting ( Sep 30, 2023 ) Florida 14, Kentucky 33

Phew…. time and research

I watched vs Georgia and didn’t see how Georgia won It all last year then UK lost to Vandy at Kroger Field and was like wait a minute. How good is good. Napier 12-16 in Florida his job is on line with it being Homecoming week Is my thinking.
