After a rough season that failed to meet up to lofty preseason expectations, few expected the Kentucky Wildcats to make much of a run in the tournament.
One fan who apparently never gave up hope -- other than this guy, of course, -- is Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear.
According to a report in the Courier-Journal, Beshear is so confident his Wildcats will oust the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday that he has wagered to give a load of Kentucky's finest export -- bourbon -- to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker should Kentucky fall. And not just a bottle or two, we're talking a whole boatload of bourbon -- "a fully stocked Kentucky bourbon bar," according to Beshear -- from several of the Bluegrass State's fine purveyors of barrel-aged whiskey.
According to the report, the Kentucky bourbon basket, created by the Kentucky Distillers' Association from half of a Maker'€™s Mark barrel, includes Wild Turkey, Jim Beam, Bulleit Bourbon, Four Roses, Evan Williams, Elijah Craig and Town Branch along with bourbon-related glassware and apparel.
Yowza! That's quite a haul.
