Stuck at home today awaiting a visit from Hurricane Sally. Good excuse to relax and play a few races.
Race 1 - The Maker horse will likely get hammered at the windows, so there should be value elsewhere. I love the pedigree on #2 TREASURY (5-1) and expect he'll go straight to the front. Front runners have done well sprinting at KD. $10 WP #2
Race 2 - #3 COLOR ME PRETTY (8-1) has had 4 of her last 6 starts taken off the turf. If you draw lines through those and just look at her grass races she fits nicely against this field. As a matter of fact she's 7 for 8 ITM going a mile on turf. $10 WP #3
Race 3 - Wesley Ward is nails with 2 year old fillies, as is common knowledge. In looking at #3 EPICUREAN (3-1), I see he brought her up to the Spa where she proceeded to light the track on fire in the morning. He couldn't find a spot for her there, for whatever reason, but is back home now in Kentucky. I know the two outside fillies look tough, but I'm going to stick with the inside bias here. $5 ex key box 3/1,2,4
Race 4 - I looked at the #9 horse for quite a while, and really believe she would have a legit shot at double digits. She was in my notes as I've backed her in her last two races (and lost). Not getting my win money today. Settled on #7 MORAVIA (4-1) as she should get a perfect trip behind the speed and Tyler G will give her an honest chance in the final furlong. $20 Win #7, $5 ex box 7-9
Race 5 - What happens in a race where literally nobody wants the lead. The top choices in here are all closers, so I'm looking for a horse who might be in a more prominent position as they crawl around the big turn. #2 KURALOV (9-2) should be forwardly placed and has shown enough late kick in the past to be able to hang on when the 1,5,& 9 come rolling late. $10 WP #2
Race 6 - White knuckle time, but I'm backing a first timer here in the 6th. #8 LAST CITY (9-2) has been working very nicely down at GP for the last couple of months. My concern is Antonucci is 1 for 30 with first timers, but she lures Tyler (and my money). $10 WP #8
