Yes radio, but to my knowledge Kennedy's lies have never cost thousand of lives, hundreds of billions of dollars and jeopardized the security of an entire nation.

You are right.
You might want to inform 'blue' of this..as it was his post that brought up the idea of liars.

Not all politicians are liars...most happen to spin too much- backtracking and retractions or newspeak-like semantics...
Bush lied because his position in the political realm gave him-- perhaps-- no other choice. This is what someone less cynical than I would hope. I prefer to see it as covering up the mistakes of the past with a new present. Not a good idea in the information age and certainly not an easy feat to pull off.

One thing is for sure: I'm not getting my information from t. kennedy.

The UK had its biggest demonstration since WW2 as people marched against us going into Iraq.

It was obvious to millions of ordinary people, that the whole thing was a setup.

All politicians are liars?
I would say that all politicans economise with the truth.
All politicians manipulate the truth.
Also, no politician can be relied upon to tell the whole truth.
And no politician can be relied upon to act upon the truth if it clashes with his self-serving agenda.

So 'liar' is too narrow a description.
All politicians are dodgy bastards.

I'm assuming you were responding to me. Typical Republican misreading. Notice I said Kennedy never cost "THOUSANDS of lives" etc. I didn't say he never cost ANYONE their life.

I wouldn't call Ted Kennedy credible, but Bush certainly is a liar. Read Slate, MSNBC, for a few weeks and it becomes crystal clear.

Obviously, you didn't read Slate like I suggested. Let me dig this up for you.

And, it's not just Liberal media that is calling Bush out, it's international & independent media as well. Of course, a fellow nazi like Rush would never cross the party line, so we can't get a clean sweep .. but 3 out 4 aren't too bad.

Until I figure out where the Slate archives went here's a good start http://www.msnbc.com/news/968569.asp?0dm=C23DN

"President Bush took the unusual step of denying categorically that his administration has evidence that connects Saddam Hussein with the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. “We’ve had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with September the 11th,”"
— President Bush, aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, May 1, 2003.

"“The battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11, 2001 — and still goes on. That terrible morning, 19 evil men — the shock troops of a hateful ideology — gave America and the civilized world a glimpse of their ambitions. They imagined, in the words of one terrorist, that September the 11th would be the ‘beginning of the end of America.’ By seeking to turn our cities into killing fields, terrorists and their allies believed that they could destroy this nation’s resolve, and force our retreat from the world. They have failed.”"

Clearly, clearly the later quote by Bush implies a connection between 9/11 and Iraq - "The battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11, 2001 — and still goes on". He is asserting that Iraq was part of the enemey that "started" the war on 9/11. No mention of "pre-emptive" (ahem .. unprovoked aggression) strikes, only that we the battle with Iraq began on 9/11.

And this is why Bush is such a terrible leader and why understandably basically the entire Muslim and Arab world hates him and by association hates us more and more everyday. There is no connection between Saddam and 9/11 and yet 9/11 is used as a rationale for taking him out. The only connection they then see between Saddam and 9/11 is 9/11 in linked to Middle East arabs/muslims and Saddam is a Middle East arab/muslim. What other connection is there? Just that they are declared bad by us and from that region. That's it. It's not hard to fathom why they think we are conducting a war on Muslim. Now listen, I'm not saying that is the case, I'm just saying the connection they are making is understandable.

We need a new leader bad, really bad.
