I made both those statements on this forum about a week ago. Obviously I agree with him 100%.

If this happens you Lebron haters have some serious explaining to do.

Im not insulted by the fact that some of you think MJ may be greater then LJ.

But don't for one second say that anyone who feels otherwise is an idiot.

It is real close. There is not much separation between the 2.

If this happens it will be the greatest singular act in a team sport in the history of America.

There really haven't been many NBA finals upsets. Odds wise there are some but usually by the time the series is over everyone pretty much agrees that the best team won.

Is this results oriented and somewhat flawed thinking? Yeah, but saying greatest upset in the NBA finals isn't really comparing it to much.

I agree 100%. This would be crazy, I haven't seen anything like it in 20+ years of watching the finals.

At the same time, JVG said he still was picking GS in 6...

Yea pretty much. But this finals will be the first where after it's over nobody will be saying "oh now I see why this team beat that team".

Its going to be like wtf happened?

So because of that there is no way to downplay it no matter what.

Just the fact that no major upsets have ever happened before and now there would be is accomplishment enough

Yes he did.

He did not predict that any of this stuff was going to happen.

He just said that if it happens it will be the greatest upset and accomplishment in NBA history.

I'm not sure. There is a lot of basketball left to be played.

My guess is some narratives would come out of the series that would overshadow the magnitude of the upset. I.e GS not as good as people thought, LeBron 1 of the best so how can it be an upset, etc....

As weird as it sounds, it's magnitude might be a little clearer in future years depending on GS success level. Atleast perception wise.

Also without looking it up I would bet 1k blindly that the Cavs would be the first team ever to win an NBA title where they were the underdog in every game.

I think Lebron's greatness will completely overshadow just how big of an accomplishment it will be. Although he would have willed his team to win the title, he still is expected to do well so it doesn't appear all that amazing (even though it is clearly).

Hope he does bring home the ring.

What about 1995 when #6 seed Houston swept #1 seed Orlando? (The Dream diced the Shaq)

The only narrative you will see from everyone besides the MJ worshippers is that the only explanation is LJ pulled off the greatest singular act in team sports history.

Without Love, Erving, and LJ this is a 20 win team at best.

So that means he took a 20 win team against one of the best regular season teams of all time without home court and won the NBA title.

I don't know. I think there is a decent chance Houston would have been favored in game 3 or 4.

In terms of moneyline from start of the series though that was probably the biggest.

This 1 had Kyrie go down game 1. If he doesn't go down I think GS would've been like -350 to -450ish.

We can debate 80/90s versus todays game all day long.. Doesn't matter..

GSW won 67 games in a loaded conference and Clev has two all stars hurt ........if Clev wins this will be lebrons signature moment of career and an all time nba upset.

I love JVG but that's a ridiculous statement.. in the NBA when you have the best player in the world, you have a chance (and they have a solid team of role players around him)

What I agree with is a victory here should make Lebron one of the best evers

Great roll players?
Come on now . I bet some of those plugs on Philly would be great roll players to if LJ was wearing a 76ers uni.
There is a reason they are great roll players.

Thats because the man makes them great roll players.

That dude is so awesome he could probably find a roll for me if I had a Cavs uni.
haha.

How many games in an 82 game season do you think these so called great roll players win in a season minus LJ, KE, and KL.

I bet all those great roll players would all of a sudden become not so great roll players

Confusing "roll" and "role" wasn't that bad...til you said the word 67 times in your post.
