just when I thought I might have to begin liking the Heat, and despite the fact that James did everything with class this time

he still pissed me off by abandoning my boy Bazz after talking him up :). With Bazz & Ray Ray, I couldn't hate them anymore

seriously, LBJ handled himself in a fashion that was the polar opposite of what he did 5 years ago. I think it was all class

1) he went home, he wants to help his home state propsper in more than one way, he didn't sell his soul to join two other megastars in search of championships

2) there was no "the decision"

3) he spoke to the team he was leaving and told them beforehand, they weren't blindsided, they didn't learn when everyone else did

I think he learned a lot from his prior mistake, and I respect him for that and for the way he handled himself

although he did fuck with my boy

He talked to the Heat but I don't believe he told them. Nobody knew what his decision was except for close family, friends and six staffers at CNNSI who needed to publish the letter. His agent called Dan Gilbert five minutes before the letter appeared on the website. This decision was a complete secret.

then riddle me this ole wise one, why did the odds on the Cavs surge "before" the announcement? I can only surmise it wasn't exactly a "secret"

he didn't commit to Riley
Riley looked and sounded like a different man before the announcement
and all the talking heads were talking about the other moves the Cavs will make to accommodate him

sometimes I get the impression you just like to disagree with people

NBA set this up by giving the Cavs the No. 1 pick two years in a row. Now that makes up for their PR mess five years ago and everyone feels good.

I'm with Willie here. I've taken Lebron off my Hate list. I'm going to miss hating Lebron for entertainment purposes.

Ya know what Willie? I don't give a fuck what your impression is. From everything I read on this topic, nobody knew what he was going to do except for his agent, close friends and family and six staffers at CNNSI (who had to break the story). His agent contacted Dan Gilbert 5 minutes before the letter was posted on CNNSI and Gilbert asked how the news would be announced and they told him it was being handled. If you say something here that I believe is wrong, I'm going to give an opinion and I'd expect you to do the same thing which you do on a regular basis but don't sit on your high horse and pretend the information you give out is 100% right because sometimes it's not. Maybe Riley knew or maybe he didn't but the information coming out is LeBron met with him in LV and didn't commit to the Heat or the Cavs. Riley didn't know shit just like everyone else.

I don't know what to tell ya Willie. Of course the chances of him going to Cleveland had to be about 50/50 if not higher so to leave the odds at 30/1 would've been lunacy don't you think?

It's a forum. Posters discuss topics of mutual interest. We are discussing how the latest LBJ decision went down which I actually find very interesting. Don't take it personal. One look at the poly forum shows you enjoy dissenting as well. It's not a big deal.
