Just some fun with the French - Ligue 1

As usual, the French league is not meant to be included in my overall tally.

I'm playing it safe here using 3-way betting to bet against 3 teams that I don't believe have a chance to win.

Bastia +110 over Stade Rennes (3-way betting) 0.5 units
Bastia/Stade Rennes draw +200 (3-way betting) 0.5 units
Rennes has scored 2 goals in 5 road matches in the league this year. Both teams are about equal in the tables. Bastia should have the advantage at home.

Lyon +110 over Lens (3-way betting) 1 unit
Lyon/Lens draw +190 (3-way betting) 1 unit
Lyon has made me some good money in the Champions League this year and are at the top of the French league and have not lost yet this year. They are only 1 point ahead of Lille for the league lead so they will want to continue to get points here. Lens has had 4 draws at home out of 5 matches.

Lille +125 over Istres (3-way betting) 1 unit
Lille/Istres draw +194 (3-way betting) 1 unit
Lille has only scored 3 goals in 5 matches on the road yet they are 1 point out of 1st place in the league. This match will allow them to do better. Istres has only scored 1 goal in 5 matches at home and has not won either at home or on the road this year.

3-way betting is when you bet for either the home team to win or for a draw or the visiting team to win. If you bet for a team to win and the match ends in a draw, you lose your bet. Likewise, if you bet for a draw and either team wins you lose your bet.

In the odds listed above, the 3-way betting is listed as RC Lens +235, Olympique Lyonnais +110 and a Draw at +190. I bet Lyon (Olympique Lyonnais) to win at +110 and the Draw at +190.

-If the match ends in a draw, I win the Draw bet (+190 @ 1 unit = 1.90 units) but I lose the Lyon bet (-1.00 unit) for a net win of +0.90 units.

-If Lyon wins the match, I win the Lyon bet (+110 @ 1 unit = 1.10 units) but I lose the Lyon bet (-1.00 unit) for a net win of +0.10 units.

-If Lens wins the match I lose both my bets for -2.00 units net.
