people swear by it, and I dont understand it. Been there several times by others choosing and it's packed during lunch. I've disliked everything I've tried. Several of their philly cheesesteaks.. and then the chicken ceaser wrap was terrible...

My sister swears that the "Mikes Way" is what makes it so special, some kind of oil / spice mix they put on the subs.
It's basically hoagies, east coast style

Agree with Defying.

There's a Jersey Mike's in Pasadena, and I stopped in there a couple times with some guys who insisted we eat there before going to a few UCLA games last year. If they pull that again this season, I'd just as soon bring my own food instead.

I have no idea what people like about it so much. I don't care for cold sandwiches, and none of their hot subs are even decent, let alone good. Also way overpriced.

For Christ's sake, Gravy...you're in Cleveland. Stick to Mr. Hero's. I'm trying to set up a trip there for Labor Day weekend. Mr. Hero's will be stop No. 1 for food, then Gallucci's deli will be No. 2. For those of you who are unfamiliar with NE Ohio, Gallucci's is an Italian grocery store that has a deli where you can literally get the best lunch of lasagna, spaghetti, etc for around $6. It also looks like a wiseguy hangout back in the day.

Have you had the Philly cheesesteak and ceased wrap from Subway?

I like Jersey Mikes and like Chop said, everything is better than Subway. They didn't set the bar very high.

What's the other place that just serves mostly cold, untoasted, cardboard like Firehouse?

Jersey Mike's is the greatest. Their roast beef is made fresh daily and is totally different than anyone else.

Of course not...

But Subway's BMT isn't bad... and their plain chicken strips covered in chipotle sauce with Cheddar Cheese, jalapenos lettuce tomato is probably my favorite sandwich...

I can't find anything at Jersey Mikes I like

haha i can't stand Firehouse been twice after i told my friend how bad it was he said you didn't mask it in hot sauce :ohno:

I try to stay away from food I don't make myself but I've been there 3 times and always has been good. Tick better than Jimmy John's, million times better than Subway/Blimpies/Quiznos. Maybe I just had a good location.

BLT or tuna is all I will eat if I'm forced to eat subway.

Jersey Mikes has fresh roast beef and fresh sliced turkey. Plus they put any veggies on it for you like Jared's does

As far as chain-based sub places I like Lenny's Subs.

That said, the best by far was a place in Vinings back in the day although the owners got old and retired.....They were on another level and best I ever had as chain places are not even in the same solar system as them...Owners were from New York....People would drive from anywhere in the city of Atlanta to that one location they had simply because it was that good..

I went there for the first last week. Better than subway IMO. Sat down and ate next to MArk Whalberg and his kids. Food was ok.

To answer the original question, it's way better than Subway IMO.

Why do you need to ask us though? It's a $10 lunch, it's not exactly a big life commitment. Take the plunge man!
