Why would somebody with that much money waste there time gambling. I've always wondered that. It makes no sense. I remember hearing about Michael Jordan betting 3 hands of blackjack for 7 million each...lost all three then walked out of the casino. WHY?

With his money it is worth nothing. It is no different than a guy walking off the street and betting fifty dollars on the game when you figure in how mich money charles has. That being saud I do remember that he was on Denver on the ML for something big against GB.

Yeah...it is worth nothing...so what's the point. The money could be used for a charity or something. Not saying that they don't contribute to charity. Im just saying that it means nothing to them, it could mean a lot to someone who actually needs it. If I had the $$$ those guys had, I would feel much better giving it to those in need than in trying to get a stiffy placing a pointless wager. Nevermind though...just thinking outloud again.

His wagering activity and the improper sign off of the marker he used when he bet Tampa for 80k got Mandalay sports book's manager fired. He is a big wagerer on sports and everyone knows it. Why is does anyone care what exactly he bets anyways? There are bigger bets made on the game in Vegas I am sure you know.

It was actually the SB between NE and STl when the Pats were two td underdogs. Let me ask this, do vegas sports books have increased limits just for the Super Bowl? Or if Sir Charles wanted to bet that amount during the regular season would his action be taken for that $ amount? I was just curious b/c I've, like many here, have heard how Vegas sports books refrain from taking big action. But would they take it knowing who is placing the bet? (charles barkley as opposed to BW or Lem) then if so the $ amount wouldn't matter b/c his not considered "sharp money".

If you are a player then you are a player. I don't need to gamble but I love to gamble. If I had the jack these guys have the only thing that would change would be my limits.

Why??

Action

Has nothing to do with wanting to win

You should all know that now

80% of gamblers bet for action and not to win

If he bets like that on a consistant basis I am sure he does not have as much money as people thinks he does. I remember the Mandalay Bay incident, I was actually in there that day.

Basically he was betting with money (credit) he didn't have anyways. THAT is what caused the firing. He was betting with table chips credit WHICH DOES NOT transfer to the sportsbooks. (unless you have the chips inhand) but then it wouldn't be credit now would it?

People hear stufflike this and go crazy. Depending on where he went and who he bet it with, it could have ALL been on credit through a few places. Who knows?

Barkley is a piece of sh it anyways so who realy cares?

Barkley used to play in Philly. He would have a bias toward wanting that team to win. Disregard his leanings as those of a homer.
