Bought an Asus (love the name). I only needed the CPU as I have a flat screen monitor. This is for my wife --pictures, video and email only. The CPU is really small (size of kids shoe box) but loaded with speed and it has wireless internet, keyboard and mouse. Paid $550. Anyone have one of these. Is Asus going to be a pain in my Assuss?

The Kinz, congrats nice purchase.

Oh man. I love Best Buy. About 2 months ago, after tireless online shopping for a new laptop and coming up empty I just said screw it and went there. 399$ Compaq 2 gig mem 2.18 ghz Intel CPU. (not duo though) with Vista preloaded. Gloss finish and the works. From when I took it out the box to the time online and fully functional on a secure wireless network was only about 20 minutes. Just amazing.

Always buy new these days! Electronics are so affordable, no reason to take chances.

Wow. Nice job again. I can't even think of something that nice when I have morning wood.

Yes. Absolutely true. A quick search on yahoo or google will tell anyone of the numerous horror storys about these guys. But if you are 100% warranty and something goes wrong with the stuff you bought : by all means, take advantage.

what is kind of neat about the assus..is that it is wireless and can plug right into the big screen TV with a hdmi cable and can actaully show 1080p movies, Can I actually use the tv as a monitor?? I can see it now playing online poker on the 60" plasma...

ya you should be 8-tabling in no time... although remember plasmas can retain images for some time if they're up there long enough.

Best Buy has been making some great deals on loaded computers like this that come with almost no extra software...which is exactly the way i like them.

Im watching Hi-def TV on my Avertec i got last month from them, no problems at all with the exception that you watch TV thru Windows Media Center and the 100% digital signal can lead to a jerky picture sometimes.

Its a really compacted case just like your ASUS and i kind of worry about heat from leaving it on for hours at a time watching t.v. , so far no probs but i may try to get a small fan behind it at somepoint to help cooling...

my friend can get a good deal on the HP slimline S3750 but like you said PPP it comes with a bunch of crap. It seems faster and his this card and that card but my motto --more crap more chance of it crashing. The Asus has three fans one on top and two in back which is great..
