god i love always being right. everything marx has said has come to revelation. 6 months from now this will be reversed.

Only 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better.
Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. Thirty-somethings are a bit more supportive of the free-enterprise approach with 49% for capitalism and 26% for socialism. Adults over 40 strongly favor capitalism, and just 13% of those older Americans believe socialism is better.
Investors by a 5-to-1 margin choose capitalism. As for those who do not invest, 40% say capitalism is better while 25% prefer socialism.
There is a partisan gap as well. Republicans - by an 11-to-1 margin - favor capitalism. Democrats are much more closely divided: Just 39% say capitalism is better while 30% prefer socialism. As for those not affiliated with either major political party, 48% say capitalism is best, and 21% opt for socialism.

The ridiculous thing is that people are all of a sudden clinging to their Communist Manifesto because "capitalism is failing." We don't have capitalism in the US and the cause of this current financial crisis is actually too much government intervention. It's frightening that we seem to be following the same plan that FDR created that plunged us into a depression for a decade.

nah capitalism is to blame for all that happened.

2 main factors of capitalism are greed and competition.

thats what you had with all of these bankers creating ridiculous mortgages. thats what you had with all the politicians.

its great to see people waking up finally.

"people waking up" lol

there are no angels that walk the earth, who are highly intelligent yet are 100% alltruistic and not greedy

those people do not exist to lead

its far more advantageous for all if some highly motivated, intelligent people lead, whether they are greedy or not

You can be greedy and have ethics, also boundaries are in place

But the utopia does not exist nor do the anglels

its obvious this poll survey represents what gtc is

someone who lives in a dream world and has to work a day in their life

Waking up to what, socialism? Where exactly did that succeed again?

Is it a coincidence that all of these greedy bankers make the same mistake at the same time? No outside force set the economy on this roller coaster?

GTC08:

"god i love always being right. everything marx has said has come to revelation. 6 months from now this will be reversed."

#1. "god i love always being right" - Considering that most on this forum
consider you to be the biggest idiot on the internet, somehow I don't think
this is true.

#2. "everything marx has said has come to revelation" - Not only does this
statement literally make no sense, even what you are implying is a total lie.

#3. "6 months from now this will be reversed" - What? Our country employing a mostly capitalist economy? You want to bet?

Why didn't you write that 80% do not believe socialism to be superior

I like both and am pretty certain we need both

27% aren't sure which is better? Those are the people who don't know the difference in the two. Government educated and probably voted for Obama.

Under 30 crowd is even higher? Geez I'm shocked. Once again govt educated. Cradle to grave type shit.

As far as greed, I've yet to have one person on this forum define to me what greed is. I'll hang up and listen.

Greed is when you know you what are doing is heading for disaster very very soon but you keep doing it anyways just so you can squeeze in one more nice bonus check.

(like what the CEOs were doing)

or when investors dont care how and why the returns are so great as long as it is
(like some of Madoff's clients)

It is a silly poll, with silly questions. When open to so much interpretation, it is reasonable to think this could very well be the best choice

The real issue is not which is better, the real issues are which socialist programs should we have and how far should we let the free-market dominate before regulating it

so 20% of the respondents said socialism is better than capitalism and this is some sort of evidence that everything marx said is coming to pass?

you really are a fucking moron if you can't decipher a simple stat

20 = 1 in 5 Einstein ... 1 out of every 5 gtc'ers think socialism is better than capitalism and this is your big proof?

once thought impossible, you actually get dumber with each passing day

Republicans favor capitalism 11-1, Democrats 39-30

that sure is proof enough for me, I'm on the right side

at the end of the day, does anyone really think the likes of GTC08 are the movers and the shakers of this world?

"I'm a fucking victim, I'm going to run and hide someplace else, someplace where other people give me more stuff"

LOL

If it wasn't for capitalists, the fucking losers would be starving or living in real poverty, like they do in socialist societies.
