395 is a nice bench

5'7 190 here around 8% body fat year round.....summer will drop it down to 5...

I did juice when I was 19.....tried Winstrol V......got too strong too fast and quit it after 4 weeks....never tried anything since......Can't believe you say juice isn't anywhere anymore....I see it everyday at the gym....it's crazy Deniro....everyone is taking,no joke......I laugh though when I throw up the 130 lbs dumbells for reps and dead 475,and see these guys stacking all sorts of shit not able to press the 120's

I never even considered it...I have for the most part worked out at home, its more convenient...I never got into the gym scene , too much macho BS, I have been litfing for about 20 years....I no longer am able to bench heavy (or atleast I have decided its not worth the risk of reinjuring my shoulder) I had a freak shoulder injury that has kept me from benching heavy, I never got it checked out and after it healed (or so I thought) I was benching with about 275 and my shoulder just collapsed, and I was back reinjured, and this was in June (summer season).....I do still work out with fairly heavy weights but more for high reps....Its not easy to not push it on the bench, for as long as I could remember I always benched very heavy (I maxed around 400) but these days I don`t go overboard...I am more into trying to do high reps with 225lbs...

I have no interest whatsoever in the whole bodbuilding scene..once the sport of bodybuilding became drug obsessed (which in some way , it has always been) I stopped following it...I never considered myself a bodybuilder anyway, more just a guy 'who lifted' to look and feel good...

I would never do steroids, but if I did, I am sure I probably could have benched 500lbs, shoot I made it to 400 and I never even really ate right!? But these days I won`t risk it....I am only 5/10 210...

I don`t even like taking aspirins...unless I am dying, I have always feared drugs of any kind....from the time I was 5 years old maybe, this goes back to the 70`s hippie era, I had this neighbor who as a hippie teenager and he was always high and overdosing, I never forgot it, and it always stuck with me lol...I actually thought all teenagers were like this guy lol...I guess I should thank the guy, I am petty sure he died though...Howard Fromm was his name...

i remember i highschool 12 years ago juicing was everywhere. the gyms now are alot less juicing.

the great thing about natural bodybuilding/working out is even you take 2 months off, the body has muscle memory. you can workout hard for 2 weeks and you get everything back.

the juicers if they stop, they look even worse than they started.

I don`t know about the roider`s (what happens when they stop) but for me it takes a couple really solid weeks, that is a good benefit..

It's amazing how much mass these guys lose when they get off juice. Some can't deal with that, so they stay on fulltime and are completely shot by the age 35 or 36.

BTW...Sonny Schmidt, runner-up to Vince Taylor for Masters Olympia...dead of heart attack. A friend of mine saw Flex Wheeler recently. He said he looked like he weighed 150 or 160 pounds.

The f*cked -up thing about bodybuilding is that many of these guys are causing serious damage to themselves and in many cases are extremely unhealthy people.

Hardcore bodybuilding and money problems seem to go hand-in-hand as well. Very few (maybe 20 or less) can make a decent solely off bodybuilding.

a lot of bodybuilders party pretty hard also. theres a lot of other 'stuff' going into their bodys in some cases and im not talking about THG and trenbolone.

but if something happens they wont talk about the coke and whisky (if you catch my drift) they will talk about the performance enhancers.

You guys seem to know what you are doing but if there are any newbies who want to learn all they need to know about nutrition, lifting weights etc, this is the place to go:

4 plates on each side is 405...its an awesome feat IMO..especially non juicers weighing around 200 lbs... not many 200 lbers can say that.. I remember Ken Caminitti talking about doing 300 on the bench and how all the players wore shirts saying "300 lb Bench Presser" lol now we know why!

I use to take creatine. What a postive difference that powder made with me lifting and gaining muscle.

Is that considered a steroid?

thanks

i never could get to the over 400lb bench

when i did 375 i weighed 198 lb

journey as you know being 5'9 w/ the shorter arms help tremendously

guys over 6' have a tougher time w/ longer arms and have to lift the weight so much further

maybe i should send this post to betpanam to get my money lol
