[h=1]Giants' Josh Brown admits to abusing wife in journal allegedly kept by kicker[/h]
Giants kicker Josh Brown admitted to abusing his wife Molly in documents turned over by his wife to Washington police last year and that cops released Wednesday, five weeks after Brown returned to play after a one-game NFL suspension for domestic abuse.
“I HAVE Abused my wife,” read one line from the journal Molly says was her husband’s.
The Daily News had previously reported that Molly Brown had accused the Giants kicker of being physically violent with her on more than 20 occasions, beginning when she became pregnant with their daughter in 2009. The case against Josh was closed and sent to the King County Prosecutor’s Office on Sept. 14, 2016, with a recommendation that he be charged with two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault. It is not yet known if the recommended charges against the kicker have been filed.

In the days following Josh’s May 2015 domestic violence arrest in Woodinville, Wash., Molly turned over emails, documents and journal entries from Josh and herself, to the King County Sheriff’s Office as evidence. One document, dated March 28, 2013 and signed by Josh, detailed a “contract for change” by Josh as part of a counseling program. In that contract, Josh states, “I have physically, verbally and emotionally abused my wife Molly.” The contract appears on the letterhead of Jerry Price, a marriage counselor in Oregon.
Giants cut Randy Bullock, Brown back from domestic violence ban
The Giants, who re-signed Brown this offseason despite knowing about his domestic violence arrest and the related allegations of other physical abuse, declined to comment on these latest revelations, while an NFL spokesman did not immediately return a request for comment.
In one of the turned-over emails written by Josh to his friends as part of his treatment, he states that he “became an abuser and hurt Molly physically, emotionally and verbally,” and that he’s “been a liar for most of my life.” Brown also wrote that he was molested for several months when he was a six-year-old child by a neighborhood teenager, and that he began abusing women at the age of seven. Josh also noted in the letter that he had an “addiction to porn and to sex”.

Molly Brown also provided officer Robin L. Ostrum with several photographs as evidence of the alleged abuse, including a cracked mirror, which she indicated was damaged in April of 2014 when Josh pushed her into their bedroom and then threw her on the floor and jumped on top of her. Other photographs appear to show damage to the bathroom door, which Molly alleges occurred in February 2015 when Josh got into an argument with her son and kicked the door in. She indicated that the door was kicked with such force it cracked the door jamb, which is shown in another photograph.
Additionally, Molly provided two photographs of herself which Ostrum indicated showed bruises to her leg. Molly alleges that Josh kicked an office chair into her at one point in their relationship while the two were in St. Louis.
Josh Brown's field goal can't erase domestic violence allegations
The journal entry was part of the release of 34 pages of scanned journal entries allegedly penned by Josh, as well as several emails and letters between Josh and his family, that detailed the alleged abuses against Molly, their marital problems and the kicker’s mental issues. One journal entry includes a bullet point that reads, “Why pics of HGH” but the context isn’t clear.
All of these new details emerged in the follow-up report by Ostrum, who indicated that the case against Brown has recently been closed. Though charges weren’t originally filed against Brown, Ostrum concludes in the report, “After having a formal recorded interview with Molly and several conversations with her afterwards, Molly has clearly detailed a long history of emotional, verbal, financial and physical abuse toward her, and to some degree the children, by Josh.”

Upon closing the case, Ostrum wrote, “The case file will be sent to the King County Prosecutor’s Office for their review of filing charges of (2) counts of DV-Assault 4 Degree.”
However, in a letter to the King County Sheriff’s Office on May 24, 2016, the King County Prosecutor’s Office indicated that it wasn’t bringing charges against Brown in part because “the victim’s level of cooperation with (King County Sheriff’s Office) and law enforcement has been tumultuous because of her ongoing relationship and interactions with the suspect.”
Giants pass on Laremy Tunsil, but have no issues with Josh Brown
The follow-up report released Wednesday also noted that, as of August 2016, Molly’s and Josh’s divorce had not yet been finalized.
In the follow-up report, Ostrum recounts another more recent allegation by Molly that took place at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
Read the report: “One night, Josh showed up at Molly's room drunk and was pounding on her door to be let in. Molly refused to let Josh in, and (she) eventually had to call NFL and hotel security. Josh was escorted away from Molly’s room and the NFL ended up having to put Molly and the kids up in a different hotel room where Josh would not know where they were.”

The follow-up report also notes that Molly said she was contacted by someone with the NFL on June 3, 2016, investigating Josh’s arrest from the year prior, and that Molly did not wish to speak to the league about the matter.

“Molly stated that the NFL would only be looking to bury this whole incident and protect Josh,” the report reads.
The Giantsre-signed Brown this offseasonto a two-year $4M contract in April.
“A lot of times there’s a tendency to try to make these cases black and white,” Giants co-owner John Mara said in August. “They are very rarely black and white. You very rarely have a Ray Rice video. There are allegations made, you try to sort through the facts, you try to make an informed decision. That’s what we did.”
Video of former Ravens running back Rice knocking his then-fiancé, now wife Janay Palmer unconscious in an Atlantic City hotel elevator prompted the NFL to contribute millions of dollars into programs to combat violence against women and institute a six-game “baseline” suspension for players accused of domestic violence.
Brown’s 2015 arrest only became public when he was suspended for just one game by the NFL on Aug. 17, five games fewer than the baseline punishment for domestic violence. The leagues said its investigation was compromised because Molly refused to speak with league officials.
