probably right ,the fields are a lot deeper nowadays...the quality of the top players are better also...

I'm glad we can agree on something.....there are thousands of quality ball strikers in the World.....only the best of the best make it on the PGA tour....

Golf is 15% physical and 85% mental. Every guy on tour and even many not on the tour have the 15% physical down pat. There is very little difference in ball striking with these tour pros. The difference in ball striking between the #1 guy and #100 is very minimal. The difference is the mental part of their game. Playing in the pressure type situations these guy play in is extraordinary. If any of you have ever played in a tournament where a large gallery was watching will understand what I mean. I have when I was younger and it was very difficult when you have a gallery watching.

But it I also agree with you and Red that the tour is very deep now, much deeper than years past which will make it more difficult for anyone to repeat in majors.

He would know......take away the Pebble Beach win and Johnny would be a teaching pro like Roy McIllvoy from Tin Cup....

why would you say that ? Most good talking heads out there haven't won jack ? and most do a great job...on the other side of it , your boy with 14 majors and no personality probably couldn't get an audition ..
