Amazing that the Tampa Bay Lightning was so close in giving up on Jonathan Drouin who they thought needed more work & had a bad attitude, and now he's stepped in the absence of Steven Stamkos (injury) and pointed the Lightning in the right direction again.

After passing on trading Stamkos, Tampa GM Steve Yzerman now has a tough decision.

My guess is one of these 2 guys will go & with Drouin's play, the odds have gone back up that Stamkos could traded in order to have enough money to keep other key players on the team.

NHL fans/followers, what would you do?

who knows you have to say stuff like that while you are the Captain

True but he has saud it repeatedly.

Almost every single time he's been asked (dozens) he says he loves it here.

Also the no tax-factor comes into play here in Florida.

Trust me it'sno secret around here that Toronto wants him lol...

Tampa should have locked him up a long time ago or participated in block buster trade. They are fucked now; give the man his money or he walks and Tampa gets NOTHING in return. They have ZERO leverage.

Drouin and Stamkos both fantastic players

Stamkos played for the Markham Waxers, :)...played one yr for minor hockey's storied Toronto Marlboros but bolted back to Markham to complete his minor hockey. He'd PACK the arenas in his minor midget year; was crystal clear this was a special player

If Stamkos leaves, i don't think it will be his choice.

But if he does for some reason, it simplifies & solves an existing problem in being able to afford Bishop, Kucherov, Hedman, and now Drouin...

Can't see Tampa losing him for nothing , that's crazy . They may sign him then trade; even so , again no leverage . Other GM's know Yzerman is fuxked

Stevie was caught between a rock and a hard place ; indecision going to cost him
