Just my opinion of course, but I've never understood why the amazing combination of the 2 feats below go so unnoticed.

Because he not only holds One All-Time NBA record on the offensive side of the ball...

I'm with ya on John Stockton!!
I have him as my 3rd ranked all time Point Guard behind Magic and the Big "O", Oscar.

the fact he has the most games out of anyone on the entire list says a lot too.....to keep up at a high level for as long as he did (especially in a hustle stat like steals) is impressive to say the least.

always thought Stockton (and Malone honestly) were under-appreciated because of where and wjen they played.

An aside - everytime I see Rod Strickland up there on the alltime assists leaders I'm blown away

Yeah and those 2 reasons, primarily the 1st one, is the reason he doesn't get the credit he deserves.
It's ok though, he schooled and proved a large majority of the doubters, many of which were probably other players in the league, wrong on the court.

Nothing I love more than to see the fellas judge a guy by his appearance and then get shown up by that same guy on the field or court.

i feel like it's where they played mostly... west coast guys have it harder as it is, but then to play in the jordan-era for a team in Utah... just tough luck all around. Add to that he was playing when ESPN was exploding, and the Jazz weren't the sportscenter top 10 kinda teams. I mean, Malone has the 2nd most pts all time, and *2* mvps... but never got a ton of play, and certainly doesn't today. makes me feel like they're suffering from the same affliction.

The steals are more impressive than the assists in my opinion. assists are in large part dependant on the quality of finishers on your team, steals is all you

When it comes to being underrated and underappreciated, it has little to do with how good something is; it is mostly how other people view it

To me, one of the greatest records in basketball, if not all sports, is Michael Jordan's six finals MVP awards. Ask google about greatest sports records or greatest NBA records and it is never mentioned

Yes, John Stockton (PG) heads up the All Time White Mans NBA Team playing along side Jerry West (SG), Larry Bird (SF), Bob Pettit (PF), and Bill Walton (C).

Another category that Stockton was extremely talented at and best at for a PG is setting hard screens. Soft is never a word used when talking about Stockton.
