It's interesting the support this guy has. No doubt he is good for golf, and represents "everyman".
The flip side of course is the semipro golfer who practices dillegently, works out, is fit, dedicates their life to the game, doing everything possible to try to succeed. These golfers must feel some unbelievable frustration watching a great talent like John Daly do everything possible in his personal life to fail, and yet STILL find a win to succeed at times. Unbelievable.
It's logical for me to dislike John "Bozo" Daly. Yet, like Fishhead and Co. I like the guy and root hard for him. Just don't call me a fan. I think it's a lot like the Adam Sandler movie. Golf is so sterile, we will root for ANYONE who shows ANY personality, even if it is a destructive one at times.
