How many times has an athlete had the flu before a nationally televised event, and then goes out and plays better than normal? Seems to happen a few times a year. I love when the broadcasters also throw in something like, "he received IV treatment at halftime, so the game is taking a toll on him", blah, blah, blah... "What a gutty performance..."

...was going to post something to this effect.
I think being sick may actually help an athlete's concentration level or at least decrease his level of distraction...which could benefit a 1st time starting qb on the road.
