Not a bad pickup. Blanton can eat up innings and going from AL to NL should help.

Your right, he can eat, but he is not that good imo.

Hamels,
Moyer,
Eaton,
Kendrick,
and I am forgetting their 5th guy, but overall, he is a decent addition, but not a season changer.

Marlins just added Josh Johnson, Volstad (#1 prospect) and Anibal Sanchez is about two weeks ago. If they stay healthy, a BIG if, that is plenty of pitching.

The Kansas City Royals selected the contract of former A’s right-hander Joe Blanton from Triple-A Omaha and optioned reliever Aaron Brooks to Omaha before Saturday night’s game against the New York Yankees.
The Royals also recalled left-hander Brian Flynn from Omaha and placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a torn muscle in the back of his shoulder. Flynn was barely beaten out for a job in the Royals’ bullpen in spring training.
Blanton, 34, last pitched in the majors with the Angels in 2013. He signed a minor-league deal with Kansas City and made seven starts, going 3-2 with a 3.89 ERA.
