The Bills are covering their rear ends in this one. Bills President and General Manager Tom Donahoe interviewed former Bears head coach Dick Jauron today.
Jauron is the fifth candidate to interview for the job, following Patriots coordinators Romeo Crennel (defensive) and Charlie Weis (offensive), Rams defensive coordinator Lovie Smith, and Bills defensive coordinator Jerry Gray.

I was excited when the Giants let Fassel go because I thought he'd fit in well with the Bills considering the Giants similiarities - great D, ball control O and immobile QB, but I'm having second thoughts.
Either one of the Patriot coordinators would bring the intangible of great division insight. The East was a tough division and the Pats cake-walked through it, so surely those 2 have to get a ton of credit.
Jauron did great his first year in Chicago, but he doens't seem too popular - this team needs someone that can sell them on success and Jauron isn't that man. Lovie Smith doens't fit IMO. Gray was a courtesy interview IMO.
Seems like a 3 way race to me.

The thing about Fassel is he brings instant credibility to the Bills. He may not be the best man for the job, but a "Name" gives him a big edge over guys who have only been coordinators in the past. Dick Jauron had the one very good year with the Bears, but given a choice, I think the Bills will make a big pitch to get Fassel. They want to fill that big stadium every game, and need their fan base to believe they are going all out after the Gregg Williams fiasco.

You don't want Jauron. He's stubborn to a fault and slow to make changes. Shoop is the worst offensive coordinator in the league and he would not fire him. The only reason Urlacher is playing MLB is because of injuries to others. He's finally playing the best return men but every Bear fan had been calling for these guys for three years.
