Jim Boeheim gets slap on the wrist

The NCAA on Friday has suspended Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim for nine ACC games and has taken away scholarships as a result of a multiyear investigation into the university's athletic programs.
"Over the course of a decade, Syracuse University did not control and monitor its athletics programs," the NCAA said in a statement, "and its head men's basketball coach failed to monitor his program."

Thought he was going to finally retire, but. I read, ' The NCAA did not impose any further postseason bans' - if that is correct, then yes, Roof you are correct.

This whole "wins vacated". Never understood the point of that. Do the other teams look back and actually think they won? Does Syracuse think they lost? What is the point? If the UNLV team vacated all of the wins on the 90-91 team, in everyone's mind they know who the winners were. You want to hurt a team, take them off TV and take 5 or 6 scholarships away. That is what really hurts them. Think what would happen to Kentucky if that were the case. "Sorry Alex Poythress and Willy Cauley Stein, you need to be walk ons and pay your own way"
