That’s all this game will come down to, period.
As a die hard Jets fan myself, I must say the next few weeks will be quite bumpy. AFTER the Bears tonight, we have the Lions, Chargers, Broncos, and Patriots consecutively. All these teams have a solid passing game led by top quarterbacks, which will easily pick apart our semi-pro secondary.

Exhibit A: We have a 21-3 lead in the 2Q of the Packers game, and voila, it vanishes, mainly due to quick pitch and catch between Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson (9 Rec, 200+ yards 1 TD).

All teams need to do against the Jets is a three step drop and quick release, or work out of the Shotgun and pick apart our secondary with quick passes. Teams know this, and the Bears are equipped to do this. If you think a combination of Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall won’t do similar damage to the Jets, you are sorely mistaken. Tonight, we play without our best corner in Dee Milliner as well.

Our D-line is one of the best with both pass rushing and run stopping, but the pass-rush is rendered useless when quick passes are thrown. God forbid the pass rush doesn’t get there on a longer-developing play, and the secondary will let up huge chunks. Rex will try all season to cloak the play of the secondary via exotic blitzes and let the pass rushers work up front alone with more coverage in the back-end. So far, it hasn’t worked out that great, and I don’t foresee much success in the aggregate.

Our only shot is to control T.O.P through our stout run game, which I have confidence we can do. Regardless, we could be up 28-0, and I still wouldn’t consider that a safe lead due to how quickly we can be scored on through the passing game, which the Bears have proven they can do. (Exhibit B, Bears storm back 21 unanswered points against SAN FRAN last week for the W). The Jets are not equipped for a full blown shoot-out, but they can put up points this year. Should be interesting to watch how this game unravels.
There is no other play than the Bears +3 tonight. (I know the line dropped but I was able to snag it at +3, hate betting against my Jets, but it was a smaller than usual play anyways). Let the hate come my way, but Best of Luck whatever you play, I can only HOPE for a Jets W, as I’ll glady lose money if my Jets prove me wrong.

Not so sure about Chicago. A great deal of traveling for those folks plus their "D" isn't very healthy. JETs can run the ball. So, maybe just maybe they will eat the clock. Looking at the unders in this game. Just haven't decided.

Chicago might be looking ahead to GB. A division rival who also needs to win.

If this wasn't a Monday Night game, I'd look closer at the road aspect for the Bears. I believe the Jets will be fired up around Rex after the last loss, but I can't get myself to bet on them right now the way their secondary shat the bed. I should've probably just laid off this game, but I just can't see the Jets winning this game. Maybe I'm subconsciously attempting to hedge my post-game emotions by betting on the Bears in case the jets lose. I really hope I'm wrong about this game though.

Great Points. Bears O-Line play has been solid as a rock too. If the Bears LB aren't burned by misdirection plays and poor tackling I think they have the edge on paper.

Putting money on a Cutler-led team is most certainly a gamble. Once the Jets start getting in his face it won't matter who is in their secondary -- Cutler will gift wrap them with turnovers.

Jets control the game on the ground and Geno will do just enough through the air. Gimme the Jets!

being in Chicago, a Packer week is usually a big event. I have not heard one reference to it as of yet. I would not put any stock in the looking ahead angle when analyzing this game

Cutler has been money pretty much his entire career on MNF. 6-1 with a great passer rating and TD/INT ratio

Agreed.

MNF is always a big game for the players.

That's the case for the majority of NFL games. Predict the turnover battle and factor in penalties and you will win many games

After watching that game, I would still say the Bears are the better team without considering the turnovers.
