This just isnt worth it anymore.

Lost every big bet the past 4 days because of turnovers or special teams play.

Started Friday night with Uconn. Saturday with Akron, WVU, & Miami. Followed by Sunday with the Rams and Panthers.

They say it evens out but I dont think so.

Tonight was the last straw.

Bears team had ZERO business winning that game tonight. NONE. (congrats though to Bears winning ticket holders.)

They flew to the WC for a tough physical game with SF on national TV last Sunday night. Sucked out a W there. Then flew back to Chicago. Then had to fly to NYC for yet another prime timer tonight. (very similar situation to Hou/Nyg)

The line itself stunk from here to high hell. Set to lure the public onto the Bears which it did. No way Jets should be laying points.

Numbers favored the Jets on their home field.

Things were set up for a Jets win and cover tonight.

Then the game started....

At one point in the 1Q the Bears had 6 total yards of offense and led 14-0 (let that sink in for a minute).

Maddening play calling by the Jets & play from their QB led to 4 FG's instead of TD's.

Jets out gained Chicago 414-257!!! (Roughly equates to a 28-17 Jets win.)

BUT THEY LOST BY 8!!

Out first downed them 21- 17.

This whole thing went exactly like it should have except for the pick 6 and ST turnover which led to 7 more.

ON top of that, the overzealous refs blow a live play dead thus negating a Jets D TD prior to the half that wouldve changed the entire game.

It was at that moment I asked myself........is it worth it anymore?

Do I want my money being stolen from me by an incompetent referee, a mook QB, or some scrub on special teams?

After 20 years, the answer is I dont think I do anymore.

Shake it off, keep making plays that offer the most value and you'll even out. Most people just bottom out and never get on the next wave.

Ive been on the receiving end of so many backdoors this year that I got down a bit and lo and behold I got a few myself this week with Virginia and Texas State, and Washington. Back in black.

Most of those skewed stats are BECAUSE the Bears scored on short/no field due to turnovers. The Jets never had the lead at any point in that game and were never within a TD of covering the 3. That was not a bad beat.

Coaches have been preaching to players for years, win the turnover battle win the game. Unfortunately, there's no real way to predict that crap.

NYG for example,

Week 1, lose TO battle 0-2, loss
Week 2, lose TO battle 0-4, loss
Week 3, win TO battle 3-1, win

Predict Turnovers, you'll win more often than not.

Hard to predict, but the above TO numbers for NYG show they have turned the ball over in every game. So, if they a play a team that rarely commits TO's, I'll take the other team. WAS looks like they TO the ball less the NYG. So WAS should be the play for Thursday i think.

Football is a game of mistakes, whoever makes the fewest, turnovers, penalties, kick off returns etc invariably wins. Tough to predict those from game to game. There is also lots of emotion involved which is next to impossible to quantify which lends to a lot of variability in the sport.

Bad teams make mistakes and turnovers. All the teams you mentioned would be classified as bad teams.

6 red zone trips- 1 td. Throw away all the other game stats, you get in the red zone that many times and can only turn one TD = Game Over.

lets not forget the no call pass interference on the last play ... he was all over him and never looked back for the ball... should have been 1st and goal to go... but on to next week... just let it go...

Or the PI called on Darrin Walls in when Alshon Jeffrey pulled his arm after the punt fumble early in the game. Got to love when the offensive player commits the penalty and the refs call it on the D.

or the bad spot on 4th down to keep the Jets last drive going, or the holding on Bostic and on, and on, and on. You guys aren't rookies at this. You know how it works. This doesn't even rank in the rankings of bad beats.
