Making bets then stiffing people because you don't like them isn't acceptable and especially so on a gambling forum. No one is forcing you to make a bet with someone...you don't accept a bet and then say "nah I'm not paying" you're simply an idiot.

Not paying you because you're a ghost is completely valid, even if you disagree. I'd probably pay you in this situation, but I don't hold it against Jdeuece if he doesn't pay you.

I didn’t welch on anything. I didn’t bet WoodStool because I didn’t want to bet with a ghost. That’s why I bet honest posters like Willie and Gas Man instead

I can see see both sides of the argument when it comes to stiffing a ghost. I personally wouldn’t do it, but I can’t blame someone for doing it.

He didn't bet me because he was getting hammered on the line I wanted to bet...he then tried to get me to bet on something else...in which I declined. I then asked him again if he wanted to do the original bet...then he proceed to say no because I was a newbie...

If I was anyone that owed this guy money...you have every right to stiff him now...as he has already admitted he would stiff someone simply because he doesn't care for them...

If you don't want to bet with someone because you call them a "ghost" its very simple...you just don't bet with that person. What you don't do is accept a bet and then later try to welch on it...Also to tell other people they should welch is so ridiculous.

You're an idiot and a welch(because you tell others too) in my book...just accept it.

I got no issues with StanfordSam and he's always nice and complimentary to me, but I'd never do any business/betting with him based on his comments in this thread. Just a needless risk.

If you can justify not paying someone because they had a previous account here, then you can pretty much make up any excuse you want to not pay them.

The ol "Well if he lost, he wouldn't pay either!" thing is 1 of the go to justifications for not paying bets that people make. Ok well if you don't think he would've paid or he isn't on the up and up then why did you bet him? Exactly.

So just pay your bets. It's pretty simple.

I do enjoy you're hyperbole though...you come into this thread out of the blue and say "JDECUDE doesn't have to pay. and Willie shouldn't have paid" Then you state..."ooo but I would have paid"

Seems like you only said what you said to get attention.

That’s an interesting take, given that I’ve settled every bet I’ve made on this forum. 100%. I also didn’t chase people to pay me out of desperation

You could mke the argument that any word a ghost spews on here is invalid, including any bet proposal. That was my only point. I really don’t care how this bet is settled, and won’t judge jdeuce is my point. I think he will pay by the way

Yeah, and it's not a very legitimate point. We're all adults, he agreed to the bet despite being told by a few posters in the thread that WoodStool has no track record. He still made the bet.

So on a board that espouses personal responsibility on a fairly regular basis, I would think him paying this bet would be absolutely unanimous.

Fair enough. I think at the end of the day, that's the prevailing argument. But I would argue that there is a room for a valid counterargument, and I'm not nudging from that stance -- and it's strengthened if you came to the conclusion that Woodstool is a ghost (which he clearly is) after the bet was made.

Yes, there are the few that could abuse that argument and use it just to blatantly stiff someone, but I don't think Jdeuce would do that.

Oh, so you don't 100% completely agree with your statement anymore, you just would argue there is room for a valid counterargument and you aren't nudging from that stance?

Sounds like ya nudged a bit man.

A needless risk? I've 100% in paying back my bets. Zero welches. I also don't chase people over a measly $100. Aren't you the one that has been advocating for more real-money betting around here?

Unlike Woodstool, I do have a track record. I have never welched, and settled every bet that I've made here. That is an indisputable fact.

I 100% agree with every statement I've made here. I didn't nudge. Room for a counterargument is not a nudge; that's the original sentiment I had, and that's the one I'm leaving with.

Strong language, I know. But just saying the threshold isn't very high for me to not want to gamble with someone.

Once you start coming up with all these subjective reasons for why a poster shouldn't pay another poster (which no one else ITT seems to agree w/ BTW) then it's just a red flag for me. Should just be a universal truth that the bet needs to be paid.

But yes, you have clearly been a standup guy in all bets you've made on this forum as far as I know.
