In the Stone Age before replay, I would hate the ref for a day or two and eventually move on to my next bad beat. Deep down I knew how hard calls are to make at full speed and wrote the bad beat off to human error like everyone should. In the present day cuckoo's nest of replay, there is a group of wizards that get to watch it frame by frame and they are still not doing much better than batting .500 (seemingly less on heavy pressure calls.) Even a ref with a half pint in his back pocket can match this performance! I really don't think about hating the refs anymore, as they are almost insignificant in their incompetence compared to the booth guys...Almost as bad as watching the booth guys blow a game or a cover is watching them review a play that is totally unnecessary to review in the first place. Most of these types of reviews that I have witnessed are in college games. It really makes me get off my lazy ass and think about doing something constuctive on a Saturday. The TV guys can't like that. "Keep that lazy bastard in his chair!" would be the obvious philosophy for all of these related parties and advertisers, but keeping this replay stuff around just makes me eat less, drink less beer, and gamble less. I actually go outside now and do work sometimes.I really hope they get rid of replay soon...
