I believe on average the shooters score around 30% of the time this guy is giving up goals in the shootout at just under 80%. That is simply pathetic!

With Luongo and Sanford on the IR they needed someone to fill in, and its not like there are a lot of high quality goalies that can be had for cheap just sitting around waiting to play. He's a short term fix for the Canucks, and giving up a 7th round pick for him costs you really nothing. I don't mind him so far, he's been solid in both games for the Canucks outside of the shootout tonight. He's big and positions himself well. Canucks want Schneider to play more minutes in the AHL, so when Sanford gets healthy , Labarbera and him can hold the fort until Luongo gets back, hopefully around the all star break.

SkateS I have no clue either. Seems to me like a tough gamble and need to catch lightning in a bottle to make this deal make any sense

Well I guess if you flew from LA to VCR on Tues, Vcr to Memphis Wed & memphis to Atl on Thursday and played two hoocky games in a 36 hour period

you would be pretty much out of gas as well.

As Van fan sez I like the pick up nice filler....... time will tell - I hear what you are saying about the shoot out stats but the had the canucks not been in a 4 in 6 they may not have even been a shoot out.

Kings fan here and I've watched Labs over the last several years. I guarantee you half the reason Kings dumped him was his shootout performance. I would pray for Kings win in OT because it's over if it goes to a shootout. This is no fluke, he is just awful in shootouts. But like some have touched on, I think he's a good backup because he is big and gets in the way of a lot of pucks. He is OK pre-shootout.

regardless if he is bad in shootouts or not, he flew in from LA, joined the team that day and then proceeded to stop 31 of 32 shots that night to beat Nashville 2-1... that doesn't seem like garbage to me. This is a third string goalie for the Nucks, no one is expecting miracles.. and if he is that bad in shootouts a good coach can always replace him with the backup goalie in the shootouts.. Its pretty rare when a team has both its top 2 goalies on the IR at the same time, good move by GM Gillis to plug a whole until one of them can get back playing. And for a 7th rounder, that is absolutely nothing..

Over the last two games he has shown flashes of competence. He has made some very tough saves that Nuck penalties have gotten him into. However, he just looked lost in the SO. He got juked so bad I think his skates are still laying on the ice.
