Excluding pitchers.

The guy has 6 XB hits in 160 plate appearances. He's slugging under 300.

He has 14 RBI in one of the best offenses in the league.

Guy is just God awful. :ohno:

He is the worst. Money aside. Watch him at the plate, he's completely lost.

We should have spent that money on relief pitching and brought up McKinney when Schwarber got hurt.

I tried telling everyone in the W thread last season before his first at bat that that was the worst contract in the history of baseball

Besides injured players you would have a hard time finding y contract that is worse.

I watched the guy for 5 years in Atlanta. This is not an aberration this is who he is

He was always horrible as far as i was concerned. He caught fire with the cards and Cubs wasted a huge chunk of change on him

i agree chop he was no threat on the braves except maybe his first full season he was above average if I remember correctly. With all that money he's completely useless

He was the #1 prospect in baseball when he got called up. They compared him to Bonds and all the other greats.

He had a nice rookie season and his been living off that reputation ever since .

Last season he was awful in St. Louis and got dropped to the 8th spot then finally got hot after the all star break.

So besides his rookie season and the 2nd half of last season what he is doing now is his norm .

He is not in a slump. This is who he is

20+ HR only once
Never had 85+ RBI
Never scored 100 runs
Never batted 300

Why were teams lining up to get this guy?

because he has all 5 tools and a high ceiling.

The same reason Hackenberg got drafted in the 2nd round of the NFL draft even though he sucked on the field

Him and Dom brown the same exact player. Ones in the minors and the other has one of baseballs richest contracts. Funny people are paid to make these decisions

He's a + defender and speed on the basepaths, but he doesn't get on often enough to utilize the latter. Very little pop in his bat, not patient at the plate.

Just don't get it

Gunned out stealing second in the 12th. The one thing he is supposed to actually do well.

Well the braves traded him for Shelby Miller who gave us a great season last year. Then we traded Miller for Dansby Swanson who was the #1 overall pick in the entire draft in 2015 who is killing it in the minors right now .

So it all worked out for the braves

He is not a great base stealer.
Yes he is a very good outfielder with a great arm but hardly worth the cash
