Guy has been fined practically every week for dirty plays and then today he gets his legs cut out from him on a dirty play and he goes running after the guy to start a fight. Too funny....

Cheap shot? whatever. That is just those blowhards on the TV crying about it.

I would have pulled my guy out of the game if he pases that play up and doesnt make the block. Those type blocks happen on every play the QB is out of the pocket. The only reason anyone even noticed is cause they thought he got hurt. It was a total legal play. Nothing wrong with it that is why there was no flag on him. He needs to know where the other players are at. That is Allens fault. He wasnt engaged at all.

Plus I am not even sure Cherilus even knew where his QB was on the play and then what if Culpepper reverses his field and comes back to Allen and Cherilus let him go, the coaches would be furious. Guarantee the Lions coaches loved that block, it's called going all out on every play.

Allen is one of the top pass rushers in the game, it'd be bad for football if they lost him for a long time with a serious injury. I haven't seen the play but if it was cheap there should be a fine or suspension.

I agree not sure what all the crying is about. That was a clean hit. No penalty was called.

Clearly as dirty a play as it gets. Cheap shot, bullshit play. Good to see Jared back at the end of the game getting the last laugh. Detroit player is lucky one legged Allen was held up by Ray Edwards. What a dirty play...half of Allen's fines this year are horseshit. One that was warranted was for using the ball as a prop.

I know one thing....wouldn't want to be an NFC team looking at heading to the Metrodome to play the Vikes in the post-season and facing that line and A.P. Let's hope the courts uphold their recent "victories"

there are different sets of standards we are using here. Player code, sort of thing, where Allen was behind the play and wasn't going to make the tackle. The O lineman, from his knees, lunges like a chop block at his knee. My position is sure it's legal, but unnecessary and the cost/benefit ratio just doesn't add up on that play. We can disagree.

djmatt, bitter bears fan? Hilarious. hope it doesn't sting to bad when the vikings win the division

Bitter? splitting 1-1 with a struggling Vikings team isn't that bad. One of the only reasons it was a shootout at Solider was the amount of injuries on both sides of the ball
With Orton healthy I'm happier, but as a Bears fan I'm hardly ever happy.

AP has his best games against us..

I have seen that type of play dozens if not hundreds of times in my life watching football. It is up to Allen to avoid that type hit. Do not run by somebody and not expect to get hit, peorid.

I will say it again the whole reason there is any stink about this play is because he THOUGHT he got injured on the play.

When you are lying on the ground like Cherulus was and your QB is out of the pocket you do whatever (legally) you need to do too make a block on anyone near you and help your team. You take your man out of the play like he did. Good job on his part. I swear I see not one thing wrong with this, if it is anyone's fault then it is completley Allen's fault, IMO.

The play was still going and Allen was in heavy pursuit. What happens if the pass was back towards the direction of Allen and Cherlius let him go. Then what? So do we get mad when a WR is blocking on the other side of the field away from the play?

I sure hope they come alive. I have waited all year for this team to play up their poetential as I have a pretty decent sized 60-1 super bowl ticket on them. They have pretty much underachieved all year.

The fact they could have lost both games and trailed mostly throughout both of them games against the Lions this year probably tells you they arent much of a threat but I hope I am wrong. they just seem to be a tad above average on both sides of the ball, that is it. Nothing special.
