Well, that was a tough way to start the season with the under 9.5. Had 7 runs going into the 9th and 8 runs going into extra innings and still the under just didn't want to hit. For what it's worth, I feel I had the right side and the under in that situation is a definite moneymaker over the long haul. Oh well, let's move on to day two. Won't be the last bad beat I have to cry about this season so I'll try not to dwell on it.
Boston faces off against Rich Harden in this one. Harden is downright filthy when he is healthy and his last two starts of spring training were encouraging. He should put in quality work against a Boston lineup that has some issues away from home.
Lester goes for Boston and Oakland's lineup is still crappy. Travis Buck is about the only one who can hit lefties and Lester should do nicely. He's still not ready to be a dominant major leaguer but against this below average lineup, he should do well enough.
Both bullpens let me down in game one but I don't see any reason why the pens are going to be a problem for either team going forward.
My Lines:
Boston -120, U9.5 -120
Actual Lines:
Boston -115, U9.5 -110
Bet:
Boston/Oakland Under 9.5 -110
Lester should do well against Oakland and Harden, if he isn't having any arm issues, has every chance to dominate the Red Sox. Let's just hope the relievers do their jobs this time around.
PS, normally this wouldn't be a bet for me as the difference between my line and the actual line isn't as large as what I generally look for, but because it's the only MLB game of the day, I'm gonna roll the dice. Normally it would be a lean though.
