Jake's Picks - August 2nd (2 Unit Play!!!)

99% of my plays are 1 unit so when a 2 unit plays comes along it means I really like it.

The Packers won't do anything this game. Coach Sherman said they won't prepare for it. Favre will only play 10-12 plays. 5 of the 11 RB's for the Packers, including Lamar Smith, will miss the game. Starters will play very sparingly. The 2 starting WR's for GB are out. Sherman is not going to try and do much with Favre in the game. He said something along the lines of just getting him in there and taking no chances in getting him hurt. They will play him safe and maybe let him pass once or twice but predominantly run the ball. Vermeil wanted his team in this HOF game so they could have more practice so you would think he'd make it count. Defense has alot of questions to answer on this squad and the backups will be giving it their all as spots are still open. I really like the Chiefs in this one, and the Chiefs by a lot.

I never bet preseason, but because i've had a good drink and your talking bollocks, i'll have a bet on the Packers.

Who cares anyway. By saying that 99% of your bets are 1 unit and you are going double on a pre-season game tells people you have'nt a clue.

Any word on how much playing time they intend on giving Holmes? If Trent airs it out the whole first quarter that could mean interceptions. Or they could just stink with their backup runningback playing, who knows. Without Holmes' genius running this team might just be average at best. Especially with the new blood on defense trying to gel and get in the zone. Haven't heard much on Green Bay, I'm under the impression that they're making another run with the same core team? maybe I'm wrong.

None of the starters will play for long in the first preseason game. KC has better backups at QB, WR and RB in my opinion.

winbet, what's up your ass? If you don't like the pick, don't bet it. Preseason is profitable for alot of people and I personally won 8 units in it last season. No need to come off as a dipshit about it.

I read up on this game as well. I think KC will win this game however I will be betting small on this one. I read that Farve is pretty motivated so GB 1st Qrt may be a good play? I really don't have an opinion on this one, you are right the starting WR's from GB most likely will not play so after 4 quarters KC should win this one. Look out for Farve to come out and gun the ball though, if GB gets up big it may to a little to much for KC to handle and come back from. I see a 55% chance for KC so there is value.

GB 1st quarter is not what I'd bet. Like I said, Favre will be in for 11-12 plays and it's their first preseason game so the coaches aren't going to do more than 2-3 passing plays with him in there. Coach said they were taking it easy with him so to me that means he probably won't be gunning it around.

I am probably going to be on the Chiefs tomorrow as well because of their depth and coach's personality. I will wait though for one reason. I have learned to wait on all the dogs going up against "sexy" teams. The mindless Packer Backers out there always drive the line up before kick off. Maybe not so much in the preseason, we'll see.
