Had they recovered onside kick, he is called gutsy and made the right call. Players didn’t execute.

I would have thought the probability of getting a 3 and out would be significantly higher than the chances of recovery from an onside kick, maybe 80% vs 35%.

You see it every week, teams with a lead are not taking any chances with game on the line, stack the box, burn the timeouts and get the ball back with 2 minutes left for Big Ben to drive for touchdown.

Worst coaching decision in the playoffs by the Pitt coach yet and that is saying something because there have been some lousy coaching decisions. I am not a Patriots fan (sadly a Giants fan) but Coach Bill B. makes almost every other coach look like a high school "B team" coach. I had lunch with Bill after the game and he told me he is going nowhere. Just kidding, of course, but he really is going nowhere,.

Doesn't say much about his confidence in his defense either.
