Everyday they call to tell me about there "inside info can't lose game.

When I tell them to stop calling they hang up and the number that they call from is "cannot be connected as dialed".

It all started when someone gave me a Free scorephone number and then I guess they sold it out.

Can't change my number because its a company cell phone. I'm screwed....

I did registered it on the national do not call list but I doubt if anyone could track them down as they keep changing numbers.

Maximum- Here's how to get rid of them and have some fun at the same time. When a sports service calls you, tell them you bet a dime a game and you don't just want the regular picks package, you want the one for "heavy hitters" and you don't mind paying for it. That salesman will be creaming in his jeans thinking he'll get a big commission. Make sure the package you choose costs at least a couple dimes.

Tell the salesman you have a platinum card and want to put the whole amount on the card. He'll be so excited by this time. Look at one of your credit cards and give him the first four digits off your card and then make up the last twelve digits. Then give him a phoney name and billing address and make up whatever else he asks for. He'll tell you he'll get approval on your card and then call you right back. In three or four minutes he'll call back and be pissed. The guy will call you a few names and they won't be calling you again.

Bad idea Bob. I mean yeah I love the idea of it too, but you never know. Reality is that is a big no no, a crime in any state. Unlikely one of these boiler room guys will call you in, but they damn well could. The line is recorded and you are giving out a number that could indeed be a real card number, in which case who knows the guy might do something bad and put a charge through it and if it the CC company ever gets involved they can press charges against you. As much as I love the idea, I would highly suggest not doing this to keep your nose clean. Best thing to do with these guys is just keep hanging up on them and telling them you are not interested...then click. There are only so many guys in the boiler room that within a week of serious denial they will all cross you off the list and you will be free of calls for at least a little while.

There is another way to give them a card number that cannot possibly be valid - and though I could give you a bad one by running the numbers, I never get calls from people like that so if you want to, you can do the math. It works - I know, I've programmed the Luhn's formula found in the link below in verifying that a credit card number is valid.

Once you've chosen one and you're positive it's bad, write it down on a card with a bogus expiry date and have your fun.

That helps that you don't involve a real number, but still I wouldn't want to take a chance on it Jazz. Sure the odds of getting caught are very low, but it still is a crime to represent a card number as being true and it is not. That is still fraud and since they have your phone number and a tape of your conversation I don't like your chances of easily defending your "just screwing with them" plea.

Well then, do as I've suggested a few months ago with scamdicappers who won't quit calling – 2 different suggestions:

I've got to be honest, Danny and others are right, **** with them bad. I might even just start cursing them out, I mean really filthy evil shit, right off the bat, tell them weird ****ing shit like I've got pinworms and itch all the time and ask them how they cured THEIR pinworms and just off-the-wall shit like that to make them think I'm psychotic, ask them for pancake recipes, just have a ball with them everytime they called - when not in the mood, take the phone off the hook or use caller id to control it. I like Danny's suggestion to beg THEM for money, too.

How much more fun do you want for FREE???

Buy a whistle. The next time they call, if you won't follow other suggestions including the 'do not call' warning, say politely 'Here it comes, CUN-T!!!', then blow the ever-lovin' fuc-k out of your whistle directly into the phone. A maniacal laff prior to you slamming the phone down is recommended.

Be sure to say cun-t, no other word will do - be sure to emphasize that word and blow your whistle as soon as you finish the word.

Wild- You're overthinking on this one. When you give the snake oil salesman the information you give him a credit card # you just made up, an expiration date you made up, a name you made up and a billing address you made up. You would have to be the Amazing Kreskin to match all four up. I don't have that fun anymore because I haven't had a sports service call me in years.

I am sorry for using the "R" word - and NOTHING EL

the problem of me f****g with JP - is that in order to call his office now - you need to call from a non-pay phone - and i'll be daned if i am gonna do that. every now and then he calls me, too - and i hang up on the recording.

BUT - here - you have an advantage.

when he calls you on your cell phone - does the number show up - or is it not a listed number? if it is a listed number - you now have him where you want him.

you tell them you don't ever want them to call you and you want to make it stick - the fact you live in CA - and their office is in L.A. (don't ask how i know) you now both play under the same state's rules:

http://www.cexx.org/telejunk.htm

the next time they call - tell them you are going to report them to the FCC the next time they call. but first - i would tell them you want them to stop calling you and in the future if they ever call you they will have to pay a $500 fine for every call. they might laugh it off - but do a search on the internet - and you will see you CAN do this. since they are calling on your cell phone - when you get your phone bill - their number will be on the bill - either the actual number (doubt that - since they have many numbers - and i doubt they want them known) or just recall the time the call was made. when you get the bill - go after them. you can make their life a living hell. take them to court and subpoena their phone records from the dates they called. this is extreme - but if you really want to nail them....

Huey from Huey's picks just got out of jail. Didn't take him long to go right back in the business. Can't someone regulate these creeps?
