Considering what he has, I don't think he did that bad of a job. Dude is grade 1 crazy but coaching-wise I don't know who would've done much better the past few years with Sanchez and Smith

I think he created a lot of his own problems. Get ready for more turmoil when thier 2 half quarterbacks come back in the summer.

Im far from a Rex Ryan fan... But I will give him some credit this past season. He toned it down, and hard shit to work with.
Plus the Jets won more games than what many thought.

Rex did one of the best coaching jobs of anyone this season, this team could have easily been 3-13. Saying that, extensions reallydont mean shit, its just a way to try and show some stability when recruiting free agents. No way would have Rex gotten an extension if he wasnt on the final year of his deal.

I'm not ready to put him in the Hall of Fame, but he did OK this year. I personally would have cut bait probably last year but certainly this year with him.

You do make a good point about extensions in general though.
